Being on this site for over 20 years, I have noticed in the past decade a lot less traffic/posting as the evening gets later.
Has everyone moved up their bedtimes as we age out, or has the west coast maybe just moved on?

A lot of members from the past have gone on to join the Choir Invisible.
And the young'uns can't afford food, let alone restoring a 200k classic mopar that they have no connection to. It's a sign of the times.

Aside from 'aging out' the general forum especially just isn't as fun as it used to be (re: epic silly thread, Oz and penguins, etc, etc). Attitudes and age related crankiness seem to spill over from the unmoderated section. Which begs the question, how much longer does Tom want to keep this going?

Myself I have less time than I did before and my schedule has changed as well as my priorities. As for how long? possibly as long as it is still generating enough to cover expenses So your response so far best deals with my original observation. I guess what I did not consider is, for whatever reasons, members are spending less time daily on this site, and their viewing may simply end earlier in the evening, due to shorter amount time visiting Moparts.

A lot of the time there is nothing worth responding to. It certainly is not a much fun as it used to be.
It really doesn't matter whether you win or lose… as long as you look good doing it!

As stated before, a lot of those with "interesting" personalities are gone.

That wasn't the case years back, I remember regularly having active discussions into the wee hours, but not seeing that anymore.

As stated before, a lot of those with "interesting" personalities are gone. Replaced by “interesting” personalities you might put on ignore. That must be the old guy crankiness coming out in me—I put some of the obnoxious ones on ignore. Oh wait, maybe they are really the “fun” guys! 🤣🤣🤣

In my younger days I was a night owl. The parties didn't really even start getting good until after 10:00pm. Now my old tired ass is in bed by 8:45 or 9:00 and the alarm goes off at 5:00am.

Anyone ever consider that some outgrow the "look at me" little bit of narcissism that some have? Some just post on there deal or combo when the question or topic isnt even close just for the look at me factor and they are easy to spot. Sorta like the facebook guys who post a the same pics of there cars three times a week.
Also to consider is things have changed and especially with the rollout of all the AI. In many situations its just not smart to post so much about ones car or personal life on the web. Some of the most nice mopars sadly never have been seen on the internet and for all the right reasons that is being proved day in and day out.
It used to be there were a few who knew a lot but as time went on there is a lot that know a little and that muddles things up as well....and lets not forget the absolute types where if its not done this way your wrong. Some of the best days in the hobby was pre internet imo. The best and the brightest really stood out and we are lucky to have a few on here that still lets us into there world and minds.

I caught the ban hammer a couple of times in early 2000's due to my "interesting personality" so I quit posting in the General section for the most part.
It was a lot of fun back in the day. When I first started posting in the late 90's it was from work because I didn't even have a computer at home!

There used to be (and still are) a lot of great people here offering a wealth of knowledge & great conversation. But I think the percentage of caustic personalities grew, and chased a lot of people away.
I used to live here, especially as the other Mopar specific message boards folded. I've worked in the production side of the live entertainment industry most of my adult life, so I've got a pretty thick skin. But I don't have patience for a bunch of 50 & 60 year old men acting like schoolyard bullies. This has only gotten worse IMO as toxicity has inevitably spilled over from the "current events" forum. The moderators do a great job, but some days it looks like trying to put out a wildfire with a garden hose.
