For us in the cold this event is always a great time. The turbo Duster project (with Dizusters motor out of his 62 Savoy) is done. So it'll be there. A few friends there as well with some cool stuff. Ernie Miyamoto's blown injected BB 66 black Nova street car. Mike Clarahan's Jaguar XJE. It's a street road racer. 16" wider than stock. He built 75% of the body himself at home. All 3 show what you can vmbuild in your own garage yourself. Doug

Looking forward to seeing the Duster and that incredible Jaguar in person!
Didn't know you knew Kyle- I'm friends with a few of his friends and got all the updates as that Camaro was being built, if I remember right he bought it wrecked and did all of the rebuilding/chassis work himself, except for exterior paint.
My Fury will be in the Sick the Mag drag and drive display, bringing it there tomorrow morning. It's rougher than most Autorama cars on the main floor but Tom invited me so I wasn't about to turn the opportunity down!

His shop is close to me. My buddy built the 65 awb car he has. Doug

Here it is finished. 400 SB Chevy, 2x4 carbs, 5 speed. He built the chassis as well. Doug Wow, that's really nice! I love E-types but not the OE Lucas wiring!

I went by and saw the Fury twice, nobody there. Damn, it looked good. First time I've seen it in person. Met Kid Dart (Scott) . His Demon looked great. Didn't surprise me that Kyles Camaro and Mikes Jag were both 1st place winners. We won 1st place in a tough field. But I was really shocked to be named for the Master Builder award. This is my friend Jeff's first hot rod. He learned a lot during a ground up build. Great weekend. Doug

I didn't make it down on Friday, but was there for a good portion of the afternoon Saturday walking around, and then was planning on being by the Fury most of Sunday afternoon. I didn't realize the awards show was from 3 until close, lol. Appreciate the compliment, it's all original sheetmetal save for an accident repair on the passenger front. I am still looking for driver's side wheel lip moldings and the hood leading edge molding so it looks a little nicer. The guy next to me got 2nd in drag and drive small tire, 1st was a Buick that was very nice, but also not a drag and drive car!
The Duster is really incredible in person, not surprised at all it won 1st and the master builder award. Just an awesome car, the pictures don't do it justice, saw it with the hood up on Saturday. Same with Kyle's Camaro and Mike's car- I didn't realize he was a retired Roush engineer too!
