Hi All,

In the thread regarding my ongoing oil pan/timing cover leak I received a few comments to check the PCV and breathers. I had never given my breather configuration much thought before, but as you can see in the photo below, I have the PCV and a single breather (to air cleaner) on the pasenger side valve cover, but no breather on the driver's side cover, which instead has a twist-on (non-breathing)cap. Should I be running a breather on both sides? As always, THANKS!

the normal situation is to have the open breather (hooked to air filter) on one valve cover, and the pcv on the other cover.

The way your's is set up the pcv system isn't doing any good. You need cross draw for the stuff to work right.

Thanks guys. Exactly the info I was looking for. All I had to do was spin the air cleaner around 180 deg. to swap the driver's side oil fill plug for the ps. side breather...luckily the 90 deg fitting and hose setup perfectly clears my carb springs on the driver's side so it took ~30 seconds!

Would there be any additional benefit of running an additional breather on the PVC valve side? I have a stand-alone breather I could pop in but I obviously don't know enough about the dynamics to know if this would help or hurt. Thanks again!
