It turned out to be a perfect day for the Midway Drags Saturday! They do things a little different in the interest of time. They take the 4 fastest runs from two qualifiers in a class and run them off for a winner. It's a heads up deal, no nitrous allowed (stupid, but whatever). I qualifed 3rd in Superstock and won first round. We were pretty close but I had a good .08 light. I lost in the final to an AMX that was running 10.70's. The 330 was super consistent running within a hundreth all day! The shifter cable got a little warm and got tight as they were hot lapping us at the end, so need to fix that. Not bad for an old pump gas street car!

I got the burned shift cable replaced and did some tuning. Timing was more retarded than I recalled so I squared that away.
Really happy with how it's running and driving now. Just need a good test and tune track day!

I really like your car and am impressed with what you are doing with the Nitrous and stock block. I would like it either way but have to ask- any plan to paint it or is the freedom of having an unpainted car too good to give up? I go back and forth. It is low maintenance and I can walk away from it anywhere and not worry but I would love to have it all glossy and black some day. It's a reasonably straight car so it wouldn't take a lot. I have really nice stainless that is all polished and ready to go...some day... I have a teen that is starting college in the Fall and just bought her a car so...

We finally got in some test passes and had fun his weekend!
It was warm and muggy with a DA of about 3800 and temp of around 85°.
I did a test pass n/a first and it did a much better 11.51. Not bad for the heat as most everyone was off about .3 from what they usually run.
I turned on the bottle to see if the new, colder heat range plugs were going to keep the #5 strap from melting. The car ran fine and did it's thing but it was late in the night and the prep just wasn't there after all kinds of street cars had went down. It ran a 10.74 with a lousy, spinning 1.64 60 ft. time. The pass was really smooth and a plug check revealed all was well.
We even drove it across town to Cars and Coffee at the urging of a friend that morning and it was an uneventful trip in traffic. Really not my scene but went to hang out with a good friend. I played a little on the street Friday night with a 5.0 Mustang from a roll. He took the hit and I drove around him!
Much better now that some timing issues are sorted! It's set at 36° total for n/a and pulling 10° for the nitrous. I hesitate to post these #'s not due to secrecy but so others don't duplicate them since every combo is different! I will say my jetting isn't what NX recommends but will leave that a mystery.

I put the hard street 275's on last night. It's kinda sketch when they are spinning in 3rd and the wheel speed is up there!

It's been a short 2023 season for me this year as in we didn't get to do much at the track. My job keeps me busier than ever and with the closest track now an hour away, it gets increasingly difficult to get passes in to test. The good thing is, I've been driving it around a lot more and enjoying it on the street with friends. The plans for the winter include pulling the transmission and doing a wellness check on it. It's taken some abuse and with the power it makes, I want to make sure all is good before we do hero passes next Spring!
