These are a pair of Rebuilt 65-72 Kelsey Hayes disc brake calipers that are used on the A body cars, during those years, as optional equipment.

This is the last pair of calipers that i have left for sale.
Good rebuildable cores are just to hard to come by anymore, for me to find and then rebuild.

I just completed the rebuilding of them, and now i am putting them up for sale.
These officially started life as 70 calipers, and you are getting them with all the hard lines on the calipers, and naturally with new rebuilding seal kits, that were required in rebuilding them, and new pistons that were necessary for replacement, and all four of the pad hold down clips.
Also with both hard lines on the calipers, that you don't get if you bought rebuilt calipers that come out of China.
These calipers are pretty much out of stock, at the parts store level, these days, in this modern day and age.

You purchase your own brake pads, of the manufacture of your choosing, as some folks are pretty anal in what brand, pad composition that they like to use, so i left that decision up to you.

Replacement parts costs have gotten very expensive since the last pair of these KH calipers that i rebuilt, last year, for resale purposes.
The hard brake lines are now costing sixty dollars from the selling company, and the kits, pistons, pad clips, have also substantially gone up in price.
These calipers are quite expensive to rebuild, in this modern day and age, sad to say.

I have done all the hard dirty work for you in rebuilding them.
I am now a retired, former full time, auto mechanic, that has all the professional, proper tools, in getting the old, stuck, pistons out of their bores.
Shop labor rates are $150.00 + dollars an hour where I'm at, and if i charged one half that, it would be a low labor rate.

They have been hand scrubbed clean in the solvent tank, then soaked out in a pail of Evaporust, to bring them back to bare metal condition, then painted up cast iron grey, with a spray can of VHT high heat paint.
And a can of VHT paint is now costing 13 bucks, at the parts stores, in my area.
I need to see $400.00 for these calipers with all the parts that go into them during the rebuild, my labor time in doing them, and the price that i had to pay for them in the beginning, and the kits, pistons, hard lines, paint.

Payment will be by Pay Pal, or a good old fashioned USPS money order. And the delivery to you will be by the USPS, with insurance, on the package.
I figure i will securely package them up in a USPS large flat rate box, to survive the journey from point A to point B, within the USPS system.

Rear trailer tie down brackets for most A, B, or E body vehicles (doesn’t fit the 7 ¼ rear axle). These piggyback onto the bottom of the stock shock plate mounting nuts and then 4 more nuts hold these tie down brackets on. You must have enough extra thread hanging down on the bottom of your U-bolts to fit the ¼” thick tie down bracket and another nut. No disassembly necessary, just slide the brackets over the extra thread on your U-bolts, install the included nuts, tighten them down and you’re done. Takes about 10 minutes to install. These eliminate all the hassles that come with using axle straps. Fits A, B, and E body cars with the standard shock plates like shown in the pictures. $60.00 per pair plus shipping. I also have these available for cars with CalTracs, same price. Made in the USA.

What i have here is a complete, rebuilt Kelsey Hayes 4 piston, disc brake set up that is used on the 1965-72 A body Mopar cars, such as Duster, Dart, Demon, Valiant, and the 65-69 1st and 2nd generation early Barracuda's. It is my understanding that these Kelsey Hayes disc brakes were a dealer installed option starting on the 1965 Barracuda Formula S cars, then became a assembly line option sometime in 1965, and used in 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72.

I haven't come across a disc brake system to rebuild in going on 1 1/2 years, and parts like this are very hard to find, and come across, in this day and age.

These are the 4 inch, small bolt pattern brakes, so you don't have to ask me that question.
That's what all the early A body cars were, disc, or drum, brakes.

I have spent a lot of time finding this equipment, taking the time to bust this stuff off a car out in the field, cleaning everything up, rebuilding the calipers, and finding and buying all the rebuilding parts.

This is what i do as a retired professional auto mechanic, on my own time, to keep me busy, and have something to do, during the day. I rebuild disc brake components, upper, and lower control arms for these old Mopar cars. Shop labor rates where I'm at are $150.00 + dollars an hour. If i charged you one half that rate it still would be low. I don't work for free, or go to the grocery store, or gas station, or pay my rent, without working to pay the bills. If you factor in what it took me to firstly buy these parts, cleaning them up, doing all the rebuilding, buying the new parts. You try it and see what rotors, brake pads and hoses, rebuild kits, pistons in the calipers, caliper hard lines, bearings, races, seals, and everything else, will cost you. I have already done all the hard, dirty work for you. I can guarantee you, if you purchased someone's parts for $400.00 or more you will be into them for lots of money that i have just described.

OK, Here's what you are getting with this set up. Newly rebuilt calipers, caliper pistons that required replacement, new rebuild kits, hard brake lines on the calipers, new flex brake hoses on the calipers. Brake pads have 95% or more pad lining on them. I got pads, along with the calipers that i got for rebuilding. Rotors have been machined. The hubs have all the bearings, and grease seals for the spindles. All the studs are right hand threads, since this set up is officially a 71-72 set up.
All the bolts are all there, for installation of these brakes onto your car.
Gravel shields, Spindles, with all the necessary mounting bolts are all there.
What you will need to purchase at your local parts store is your own DISC Brake master cylinder for this set up, whether you buy a new one, or rebuilt one, is up to you. It will depend on if you plan on using these parts for power disc brakes, or just manual brake.
And a disc brake proportioning valve.
A good used one can be found, and or repop ones are available from some aftermarket vendors.
Or, adjustable aftermarket ones are another option.
Also you need to purchase new DISC brake lower ball joints if your car needs them as disc brake ball joints attach to the spindles using 9/16 inch bolts where drum brake car ball joints used 1/2 inch diameter mounting bolts. Or have a machine shop drill your existing Drum brake ball joints, out to 9/16, if they already are in good shape.

I expect that you know how to work on brake systems on your car if you purchase all these parts from me. You need to know how to install brakes, bleed brakes, maybe bend and flare a brake line or two, and know what the heck you are doing on a changeover such as this. You must have a working mechanical knowledge, knowing what your doing.These parts are being sold as is, even though they are rebuilt components. After all, these things are 50 + year old parts.

Once they leave here they are your's. No returns. I haven't had any complaints from my internet clients,that i sold rebuilt upper, and lower control arms, and various other style calipers for the old Mopars, and all the other brake set up's that i have sold to my customers. Everyone has been a happy camper.

The cheapest, and probably the best way for me to do this, is thru the USPS in their large priority flat rate mail boxes, using four of them.
