Is there a rule of thumb about how much room is needed from the top of the carb to your hood? I have a T/A hood and a dominator

thx

I think I have heard that it will work best at least 5" from top of scoop/hood surface? IIRC

You would like the air horn itself about 3/4" below
the hood or more... not the scoop... if you have the
room use a ideal entry on the carb (looks like a short
injector stack). The biggest thing is where the scoop
is located

Sorta looks like this, but a ideal entry has a continuous radius
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail...mp;autoview=sku
EDIT
mine are 2" tall with a nice smooth radius into the
carb... that way the air doesnt go into shear trying
to get into the carb

Mr. P,

Who knows, just keep buying parts and trying them.Iam on my third manifold now went from Indy 2 to a 3 and now 3-x which made it to tall for my uni-filter which i loved, so i just ordered a 12 inch round thing i saw in the national dragster.

Which part.... the shear... air doesnt like to make
sharp 90* turns. The ideal entry is just a curved
inlet(radius), its similar to the link above but
with a bigger radius. When I use to flow air cleaners
we had to use the entry so there wasnt any turbulance
to get constant flows
I'll see if I can get a pic tonight of what it looks
like

I have tested a set of standard 14 inch non dropped air cleaner bases on my old M.W. stocker with no scoop and that car would pick up .02 to .03 with the air cleaner bases on and lose that same amount taking them off

Yeah, I got it but havent been to the track with it yet, due to the weather. The guy who makes them Tim Cummings was very good to deal with, calling me after he sent it, to ask if I liked it or not.I will let you know if it works or not.

Do you happen to still have his contact info:? He has not ran the National Dragster Ad in a few weeks. I would like to get one asap.
Thanks
