I didn't know he had switch it to S/S from NHRA Stock

Chuck Rayburn .. he has had the car for many years .. he switches back and forth between Stock and Super / Stock .. a few of the early B motor / B body AA/SA, A/SA and B/SA cars also fit in SS/BA thru SS/DA with no changes.. sometimes due to the national meet car quotas they can't get into a national meet with the grade points they have into Stock so they enter S/S instead .. Denny Sanders had a Gold 64 Dodge in Stock

Denny car was, maybe he still owns it , was an off white stock color, definitely not gold.
I've known him since the mid 1970s, long before he found and bought his M.W. 4 speed car original car, I think he bought and started racing it in the mid to late 1970s.
His father had race M.W. cars back in the day according to him when Denny was young, before his dad died.
He moved up to the Mojave Desert in the 1980s, we moved out of there in 2005. I remember seeing him and his wife at one the Mopar only races in Las Vegas in the late 2000 teens, he was racing it in one the stock, SS combo classes, I think
40+ yrs. of racing together, my how time has flown

Not 100% sure, so don't rip me ..but, doesn't Denny Sanders have a white 64 Dodge ?

There was a Bob Elliot that raced a black 1963 M.W. Dodge Coronet in the early 1970s in Division 7, I'm not sure if they are one and he same. The Bob I knew was a good guy and a good racer
I've known and race with a bunch of Division & NHRA racers in both S/S. Stock, S/ST and S/G up to 1988 when I quit racing in NHRA divisional and National races due to the politics in their organization and at there events

Funny you should mention the NHRA politics .. I was just talking to one of the Bardekoff brothers ( their father used to own the 64 Belvedere that Darren Grossi drives / owns ) they were at a local tracks Nostalgia meet with their gorgeous SS/ GTF 68 Barracuda ( has a Drag Pak motor ) and they said the same thing they got tired of the NHRA b.s. they now run Mustangs in one of the outlaw classes
