Asked on the Q&A board first but probably should have come here instead. blush
Are 2wd and 4wd upper arms the same? Need to replace them on my sons Dak and only find listings for 4wd. work
Google brings up one site saying they are the same and the next one says no. shruggy
And no, I don't feel like fighting them to just replace bushings unless I absolutely have to. Did it on the QC Dak I had and it was a PITA. frown

TIA up

First place I checked. All they show are 2wd lowers. Same with parts houses. frown
A990 answered me over on Q&A that they are different. Guess I'll just have to dust off the press and go a few rounds with it. runaway

Thanks. up

Tim, I just did all the front bushings on our 2004 Dakota QC 2WD. I took it all apart and got a friend that was going to do the alignment to press all the bushings. I can't answer if the bushings are different, but the upper control arms are a royal pain in the ass to get off. I got all my bushings and ball joints from the link below. They were great to deal with. Good luck with the UCA's. up

Thanks, JD. Been busy out in the garage. wink Surprisingly, the old bushings came out way easier than the ones on the QC did. shocked
Taking the upper arms off wasn't too bad. Maybe because you have a 4.7? work
Found several other things to take care of while I've got it (leaking crank seal, radiator).
Always something. grin

Sounds like the snowball is just starting to roll down the hill.
I've never had one of this type of project that did not turn into a snowball. Its that "While I'm there I might as well..." that always gets us. After its all done and you get years of trouble free service out of it, that snowball stuff was worth the effort.

You just know if you don't do it now, about a week after its back together you will need to do it.
