Is there a way to report a user on this board as a scammer? They have recently joined and have only one post. I'm fairly certain that this person is using internet pictures and trying to get people to buy stuff. I know this because I've been looking for some parts and they have been feeding me incorrect pictures of similar things that I have been looking for. There is a warning on FBBO of what to look for and this person fits the bill.

I was just checking to see how many people had one post looking for the scammer and I noticed 200 search pages of the 558 pages had zero posts. Was really surprised that many sighed up and never posted anything.

By any chance does he tell you his buddy has what you want and give you an e-mail? Location of Texas?

Anybody that hasn't been here since the Great Reset of 2003 is probably still on the list but has 0 posts.

Oh man, same guy messaged me about the window regulator I had posted about for my Barracuda! Thankfully I had already scored one in a j-yard here in NC.

YEP.. I got scammed out of $720 by Lloyd Whitney in Texas .. same way his " friend " answered my ad looking for a 4 inch stroker crank and gave my Lloyds email of course the scum that answered my ad deleted his account right afterwards BEWARE GUYS DON"T GET RIPPED OFF LIKE I DID !!!.. then Lloyd tells me he can only refund my money if I give him my bank account info .. yeah right !!!

Why would anybody send money on just trust? There was something on craigs list i wanted to buy that was not local but couldn't figure out a way to make the transaction. Don't send cash and "hope" people do the right thing!

I've bought and sold a lot here over the years and never been screwed. Just look at the user's registration date and post count. Nothing under a year, and has to have an active post history.

Here is the message i got from Roble 88 out of Allen Texas when i posted a wanted ad in the e body wanted section looking for a fender for 70 challenger. The pm Roble88 sent said "Contact Mckay Ford, He has a 70 Challenger passenger fender for sale in mint condition. Here's his email kelseygraym@outlook.com"

I emailed Mckay Ford and said i was told you have a fender, he replied and said he did and was in Spring Tx, i told him I know someone in the next town over from where he said he was and that they will come and pick up the fender after i get detailed pics with him in it, asked how much he wanted and how he wanted to be paid. I haven't heard back.

Had it happen on another site too, where I posted a wanted ad. Sent me a link to a vendor who just happened to have several. Got mad when i wanted pictures of a specific area of the fender with him in it, called me some names and blocked me, this was on FB, I've bought quite a bit of stuff over the internet but have to be really careful. The scammers are everywhere, especially the wanted ads

i was looking for a fuel pump push rod on here, and was told a guy had one on FBBO. he was in massachusetts. well, ok...........
i contacted him, asked how he wanted to be paid. he said a postal money order would be ok.
got one, sent it to him, and waited. no big deal............
contacted him later, and he said he would look, as he said he thought he had sent it out.
nothing since, although i have messaged him several times..................

^^^ in that case, talk to your local PO about them looking into it.
Last I heard, USPS was pretty aggressive with mail fraud.

Going w-a-y back on this board, it was 'easy' to spot a scammer in three steps, 1) recently joined 2) low post count 3) always had a gmail account.

I got burned for $20 back then, but no problems recently.

It's frustrating how bad scamming has gotten.

My new? cell phone came with a g mail account, so I decided to use it to give out when somethhing asked for email address, occasionally I will forward something to my buddies, they usually won't open it because of the gmail addy ...

even older, I still use my original aol mail account, I get "still using aol?" why not, it's free and it works.

McKay Ford also had what I wanted So I asked for certain pics. And he couldn't provide them. Stay clear.
