Ebay is good January to April then the swap meets open and traffic slows down. I chuckle when people say eBay fees are high but have you seen the swap meet space prices lately along with travel cost and the time away from home?
This week is the Pate Swap Meet and I'll be there buying and selling. The sales I've made for Pate are pre-show orders a couple of parts to pay for the trip. So figure $350 for the trip how much is that in eBay fees? But for me it's a hobby and a way to buy parts for my cars.
Supposedly Instagram has a place to sell parts? Iron Trap Garage on Youtube sells there along with swap meets and eBay with success.
Best of luck with your sales. But now they report any income over $600 (I believe) on ebay to IRS
Facts are stubborn things.

So the Mopar Nats $95 preregister $115 at the time of the show for a 10'x25' spot. You need two spots one for the vehicle and one to sell from, $180-$230.
For me it's 972 miles, 15 hours driving 100 gallons of fuel to the Nationals. So selling $5000 of parts you are at 10% not to mention hotels etc.
Bottom line it cost money to make money and the eBay IRS is held off until 2024. So be thankful you didn't pay taxes from the beginning of eBay.
If you file sole proprietor on the eBay parts business you can write off the 972 miles and shipping etc.

I’d sell it as one big lot, here on Moparts… Yeah thats just shy of never gonna happen. do what i did, take it all to a swap meet and fire sale the stuff and then whats left find a guy around or next to you that will take the rest for free, that way you can wash your hands of it all and not have to unload the crap back onto the shelves when you get home.

So I presold $1800 for the Pate Swap Meet this week, bought another $750 and sold 90% and took a set of headers and some smalls home. Stayed two days one night and cost me around $250 about 10% of my profit.

i got to thinking hard about this the other day, and i have come to the conclusion it's time for me to bail on selling "stuff". i got to looking at all the boxes and packing material i have gathered over all these years, and the space this takes up, and i think i'm done. shipping is outrageous, e-bag is a ripoff, and when i figure in all my effort to box up, [which i take great care to insure no damage occurs] i figure i might just as well toss everything, as in the end, i have WAY more effort in the deal than it's worth. i think most know i never toss ANYTHING, but as much as it pains me, [growing up around depression era aunts and uncles instilled in me the "that could be used for something someday, so i better keep it....." mentality] i think mr. scrap man is going to get quite a few visits coming up. as my one good buddy goes to carlisle every year, i will probably have him take a few things to "fire sale" dump, and i may take a few pictures and list here for carlisle pickup, but that's it. i started to toss shipping supplies the other day, and what a workout THAT was ! mr. garbage man will be pi$$ed at me for at least a couple of weeks, as i will be crowding my limit for the weekly pickup. then there are the BOXES of used wiring harnesses................[and to think of all the times they have come in handy for repairing a harness without resorting to butchery.....]

Just curious, if an ebay seller sold a old, used $100 radio on eBay, plus $15 shipping approximately how much would eBay take from the seller? Generally.... $100 for the sold price, $15 for shipping and assume sales tax collected by eBay another $10. eBay calculates the total GROSS price (this is the amount reported as income, also) as $125, and this is the amount eBay bases their fees on, about 13.5%.
