Seems like a lot of money for a car that needs a bunch of work to be close to correct. Not a horrible looking car, but that is a bunch of money for sure.

Never, ever argue with an IDIOT. They will drag you to their level and then beat you with their years of experience

Doesn't seem too nutty an asking price for a black #s 4-speed E-body in the current market.
Granted, it's not "correct", but it looks pretty nice, and a lot of folks won't care about it being exactly as produced.
In any case, that's the largest bunch of key words I've ever seen !

Right.

Color not correct (but black way better anyways).

70-71 Rallye dash (bet there are lot of 70-71 owners who'd like to trade w/their incorrect 72-74 ones).

Dash Cap

Engine compartment maybe flat black?

But true four-speed e-bodies are getting hard to find. Even sad-mouth Challengers.

If I was spending $40k on a frown town e-body, I would expect them to have used a spray gun to paint the engine and trunk compartment and not the mark down rattle cans you would get a Home Depo to touch up the BBQ grill with.

Now it's fixed.... LOL

I would have preferred it the original Red but mine is FE5 Red so I am partial. Mine had a white interior though.

That car is only the third Challenger I have seen that was 340 4spd FE5 Red without a vinyl top.

For some reason almost all of the Red cars got a vinyl top. shruggy

Ugly dash cap, ugly flat black engine compartment, no pics of trunk w/o the mat/spare tire, and no pics of underneath is a bit off-putting.

But if it's a real solid car (one would have to visually inspect it), I think it's a decent buy if were to get it for say...$30-$35k.

Sad mouth Challengers...cheapest of the e-bodies, are starting to grow in value. Especially 72 340s w/four-speeds.

. I agree...no Mopar should have a flat black engine bay! It looks awful and (to my eyes) dirty too. But, if it's a legit 340 4 Speed car...and it's clean, I could see it selling for $33-35k.
