There's that TV show - Texas Metal ? - where they make dashes & consoles out of wood and particle board for their customs.
I imagine after some time, the cars start creaking like old racked cabinets.

with a little spray foam insulation you could really make something nice out of that, yeah don't laugh until you do a search on some of the things that have been made.

he should have just got one of those caps that you glue on over the busted up dash, they install in minutes and make it look like new again

Those caps look just as bad….. I did the LMC dash in my old 01 many years ago. Biggest problem is the substructure is made from material just as bad. Spent many hours plastic welding and epoxying the skeleton the dash attached to. We quit doing dash work on 2nd gens at work many years ago.
