Just wondering if anyone here owns one or has owned one. Just wondering about the good and bad? It's been kind of a car that I've wanted to own since I young one when they came out. I'm hoping to make this a 5 to 7 year goal in my life. Anyways, just wondering to try here first for information and experiences. Thank you in advance.

I've always liked them. Of course as usual I couldn't afford one when they were affordable and now they've gone back up in price.

I've always liked them and kinda wanted to get one, but the V6 engine always made me go with something else like a Viper or Challenger usually.
For the price they usually are I always found a different option.

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

There's a yellow one on BAT right now.

I have to say I have been very impressed with the durability of the 3.5 in our fleet.

X2 on that, imagine if they had put a V8 in one from the get go!

Thank you everyone. The V6 doesn't bother me and there is a few V8 swapped ones out there. I know there use to be a few Prowler Owners here on the board. Not sure if there still is or not. I did think about getting another Dakota Convertible (I've owned three in the past) at this point and keep it maybe V8 swap. The problem with those is I think it's super hard to find the convertible specific parts for those trucks and good luck finding glass is someone breaks or cracks which is easier for the Prowler by just a nudge. The Prowler looks cooler to me though.

I got to drive one of our "mules" back before they were released to the press. We prepped about 32-33 of them for the big press release on them. I did not care for it, did not like the 3.5L, & did not like the exhaust note. They never did anything for me, & God forbid if you ever got in an accident with one!

There is a silver Prowler running around here with a 5.7L Hemi/6M. Looks all factory also. Nicely done. That one I wouldn't mind having.

I would imagine the power to weight ratio is good, but that's the thing with a six cyl. Never going to have the exhaust note of a V8.

A friend of mines Dad has 2 of them. I have driven one of them. They are strange, the shape of the car makes it feel like you are driving sideways down the road, and you can spot the neon and caravan parts real quick when you get in them. They are light so its decently quick and it sounds as good as a V6 can. I am 6'3 240 and once I got in I was comfortable and could have driven a road trip no problem. The top was up so stop lights were really hard to see and it was hard to get in. With the top down both those problems would go away lol.

If I were to win a billion dollars a prowler would be somewhere on the list of cars I would stuff a warehouse with, but not near the top.

Thank you all again for all the replies and feedback. I don't mind the car using other parts as that makes it somewhat easier to obtain some of the part depending on what they are. I'm assuming they ride rough but, I've heard the tires make a difference in that as the factory tires were run flats.

I agree and as you stated earlier....those 3.5s are a good little engine. Had 2 different LHSs with them...moved those big tugs with ease. Keep up with timing belts/water pumps and the rest was rock solid.
