Minutes ago I heard a age 70+ DJ on a local radio station mention the impressive performance of the Motorola made ”Sapphire V” radios in 1960s VW Beetles.

I know Motorola manufactured some Mopar radios.

Where some Mopar radios “rebadged” versions with “guts” like the Sapphire V ?

i remember audiovox had an add on box about 1" thick and about 4" wide that tuned in fm stations when the am radio was tuned to a certain frequency.
those boxes worked pretty good. i bought and used several of them.
if you had a good pair of speakers, the radio sounded well.
