Here’s an old thread on the item I believe you’re looking for. I made my own using material from the hardware store and the original I removed (images within the thread). It was very easy to make if you have access to a small lathe.

The short story is that unless something has changed the detail wasn’t being offered by any of the usual parts suppliers.

Good luck, you can do it !!!

I am pretty sure someone found a pretty close to exact replacement for these as a general part from a hardware store sold in packs of 20. I think it was posted at https://www.e-bodies.org/ around 6 or so months ago.

the Mega Parts kit is a rubber grommet.

I have tried to use that but don't like it as much as a white nylon bushing.

It doesn’t appear a rubber grommet is correct for any year/model, and suspect it’s just a functional replacement

I remember this too. The part looked like the original. I think it was a part that Granger or Fastenal sold, but you had to buy them in bulk. It may have been mentioned at e-bodies.org.

BTW, nice seeing another IE ebody guy!

Interesting and shows promise, but we are on the “Restoration and A12” forum.
I’ll be curious what each feature measures relative to original.
That said, for many it may be close enough and functional.
Hopefully the fellow that bought a box will update once he has them.

These are very easy to make (with one caveat - you need to have or know a friend with a lathe)

So I decided to dig for my original and take caliper dimensions, the image attached shows what I got from my bushing, and short of the overall length I would have to say that it matches dimensionally. Of course overall length can be easily overcome since the shoulder height appears good, from memory I don’t recall if the added length would make a difference but suspect not. Mine appears deformed or a poor cut on the length opposite the shoulder, and why the large tolerance of .020” is shown

The outside dia of the shoulder is close enough that no one would be able to tell less calipers

The only other item that may be out would be the color, listed as white, where the original is more translucent/yellow, and may be a result of time.

I’d like to see one now, but suspect it’s good.

Wanted to post up after questioning the dimensions.

would the year, or parts supplier, dictate the color of that bushing ?
being curious, i looked at the one on my charger which i have owned since 1970, and it's color is black.
i'm positive it's original, as that assembly has never been removed from the car since i have owned it.

Appears black is very common
