I know this is kind of a rediculous post 😐 , but i am pretty amazed at how long the replaced heater hoses have lasted on my 68 Charger…..they are braided an hoses though. However, they were installed on my car in 1978 and have been in operation until today. The car has been running throughout all those years. They probably will leak next drive, now that I posted this. 😂

I should add that they come from the Military jet supplies , as the original owner of the car worked for Grummen. So, that might be a consideration.

Real aviation braided hoses don't have any rubber inside, that is why they have lasted so long. I have a 83 Charger that still has the factory ribbed heater hoses on it.

That’s a cool car. i had an ‘83 charger back in ‘86. It had the 2.2 5 speed. Silver ext. with burgandy int. Fun car. I blew up the tranny bellhousing popping the clutch at high rpm. Haha. Put in a new tranny and ran a while more.

Depends on the class, Aeroquip 601 and 701 have an inner tube of seamless, specially formulated synthetic rubber reinforced with a stainless steel partial inner braid and full-coverage stainless steel outer braid.

Every thing I have messed with was 3000 psi military stuff.

Yeah, but I am just amazed that they are still good at 45 years old. Every time I think about replacing them, I just know the newer stuff wouldn’t last half as long. So, I leave them.

I guess the pricey stuff is good quality, but i just have to much faith in most new products with all these environmental regulations.

I replaced original fuel hoses on my 63 lincoln last year that were still good. I have ones a few years old on other vehicles that are hard as rock. If the new ones don't last the old ones are going back on.

Exactly what I was also thinking. New stuff just doesn’t seem to last.
