Just finished up my 5.7 crate motor install with the MP harness and ECU.
Car starts and runs great, but I noticed a slightly rich exhaust smell like my old 340 when I pull in garage after driving, slight but there.
ECU is throwing the following codes, 4 of them are related to the 2 rear O2 sensors.
Factory cars come with 4 O2 sensors, this crate install only requires 2.
So I'm wondering why they didn't disable, and is the cause of the rich smell?
P0138, P0158: O2 sensor high voltage Bank 1 and 2, sensor 2
P0038, P0058: Heater control high, Bank 1 and 2, sensor 2

And P0443: Evaporative Emission Control system, purge control valve
I have this nipple capped, isn't this the "gas cap check" code?

Called the tech line and they had no idea, guy kept telling me I need to move the air filter to get cold air.

Anyone have a similar issue?

On my hellcat swap, there is a specific right and left side O2 sensor. Maybe check to see if those are correct. Mine is going to hit the Dyno in a few months, be interesting to see if mine has codes I dont even know about.

Thx for this reply,

Yeah, I wondered about that.
Best I can tell the O2 sensors are all the same, just different lengths on the pigtails to the connector.
I did double check mine are in the "correct " left and right spots, but the error codes are for the rear sensors, after what would be the catalytic converter.

Now that I've driven the car a couple of weeks and logged some miles, the smell is gone.
Next step is to lower the fan turn on temp and turn off these 4 codes.

Good to hear it seems to be running well. You said a guy told you to make sure your airfilter is out of the engine compartment. I recently did that myself. It always bugged me that I ran the filter right of the intake boot as an open element, especially with a supercharger on top and suckling in hot under hood air. The weather here has been all over the place lately, but I did manage to take it for a ride with the new filter setup. Don't know if its because I havent driven the car in a while but damn it felt stronger.

Looks good, colder air should help.
I didn't go the extra mile and put my filter in the usual spot.
Car runs amazing, so much nicer than the old 340
I'm not looking for every last HP, it will see way more Hwy miles than 1/4 mile blasts

That looks great! Dont know if you are aware, but you can by the HC factory seals for the fan and radiator assembly from the dealers. Helps pull more air through. I notice you dont have them. Looks like we have the same Rad and Fan setup. Glad you got it done!
