It was one that was indexed by the spring. There was a lot of metal "fuzz" around the magnet. The gears all look fine. The wide style look softer that the earlier narrow struts. 1969 340 4 Speed Swinger R4, black vinyl, white butt stripe, 3:91

If it popped out while running and got into the teeth you would know it, it might have locked the trans till something else broke free/off. Mainstream Media is the new Pravda
