lots of A/B/C-bodies in 1967-'69 that were 3-speed manual on the column - there were NO factory floor shift 3-speed manuals that vintage

I remember seeing a 1973 340 Duster withe 3 speed shifter on the floor up
I sold him a 4 speed with a shifter out of an earlier A body and took his parts in trade, I still have them work
Maybe I should list them for sale now, that car had 42,000 miles on it when I did the swap for him:back in the late 1970s work devil: shruggy:: grin:
Daddy needs some more speed parts: whistling:

I bought a 67 Plymouth Satellite wagon parts car that had a 3 on the tree.
I also bought a 68 Dodge pickup that was a 318, with a 3 on the tree, that one was pretty strange, most trucks that got the 3 on three on the tree were slant 6 trucks, most V8s got the granny gear 4 speed.

I also bought a 75 (or 76) 4 door Valent with a 3 on the tree. The only option the car had was a 3:23 Sure grip 7 1/4 rear end. The guy (one owner that blew up the slant 6). He special ordered it as his fishing car, seemed the one he had before it couldn't pull the boat out of the river at boat landing he used, was always spinning the tires. The car had the small bolt pattern drum brake wheels all around. Plymouth must have pulled the parts out of the back room storage to built that one, this was the time Chrysler was experiencing their late 70s financial problems.

1967-1969 New Yorkers were all 440 automatics, but a base Newport was 383 2bbl with 3-speed manual on the column STANDARD

Yup, New Yorkers were 440/auto

Newport was standard with 383-2V and 3 Spd manual on the column (I inspected and photographed a 67 Newport 2 dr hardtop with 383-2V and 3spd manual on the column around 15 years ago for a Mopars member looking to buy it).
I also owned a 67 New Yorker 4 dr sedan for a time...

Yep most of the trucks that were three-on-tree were slant sixes as you wrote. I was lucky; my first vehicle at 17 years old was a swb '67 D100 utiline that was a three-on-tree and it had poly 318.

I drove a ton of slant 3 on the tree trucks and vans in my younger days. Even a Dodge Maxi VAN 3 on the tree powered by the leaning tower of Power.
The term going nowhere fast was an understatement.
But it never failed ever.

A friend in college bought a new '76 Duster and he got it with a 3-on-the-tree to save money. Were the Volare/Aspen available with them? I don't recall seeing anything but floor shifts.

I don't think so either. I think all on floor.

I think the Volare and Aspens replaced the A body Darts/Demon and Duster in 1977 scope

Yes, the Dart Sport and the Aspen were sold in 1976. In fact I picked up a 76 Aspen Pikes Peak car that we found out was originally a 76 Dart Sport body in white! Apparently the sheet metal was a pretty easy swap...

Many years ago .y buddy knew a little old lady who he did all.her service at his shop.
It was a.66 67 B body 2 door slant 3 on tree. Super clean church, food store. So when he did oil changes etc was time not miles.
And he would put some miles on it so it got a,workout
When she died her son got it and was shot to help on no time and then he sold it as said it was a crappy car.
