Team,
In another post I mentioned issues with AMD 68-70 B body (not charger) rear windshield.. I believe the pics below show you everything you need to know...
Here are 4 pictures showing the differences as clear as I can make them... Notice the repro glass has almost no curvature in the glass
Note: This is an officially licensed by Mopar with mopar emblem (costs more) repro glass from AMD
Factory glass->Passenger side - corner curvature Repro glass-> pass side corner NO curvature
Factory glass ->Driver side - corner curvature Repro glass-> driver side corner NO Curvature

LOL no pun intended...
Pretty obvious to me as well... But, the differences were actually hard to capture picture wise. The way the light hits it makes if very hard to see if you don't exactly know what you're looking for.
FWIW, Classic Industries told me that they have sent these pictures to AMD.
I paid $350 for the glass and $231 for freight. CI refuses to refund freight but says they will refund the glass but I have to pay return freight. (MD to CA)
The cheapest freight I can find for this size and weight is around $300.00 Obviously, they know that no one in their right mind is going to pay $531 total freight for a $360 refund for the glass
If this is the way AMD is manufacturing this "Licensed" glass then they should have informed paying customers in advance. Not just thrown it in our face...
we'll see what both AMD and CI has to say about it... as of right now I have a nearly $600 paper weight taking up space in my garage...

AMD relies on Alpha testing done by private individuals and shops around the country, some not even competent enough to finish off a free spoon fed lunch, never mind determine the fit/finish of a reproduction part....unfortunately they rely on their feedback to release the items, the customer then becomes the Beta tester unfortunately.....I'm grateful that companies like AMD exist, but they really need to vet the sources they rely on.... Well put & this is what other makers of aftermarket parts should adhere too,i can't stand it when some compony goes through all the trouble to repop something & they get it wrong what the sense.

Hey if you're happy... I'm happy for you..
I'm glad you posted...
If you wouldn't mind, did you get them from AMD?
if so, did your 3 rear windshields look like the factory pictures above (curved) or, are they more like the Repro pictures with no curve as shown above?
For the benefit of us all, perhaps you could post some pics showing the profile like above?
If yours look like factory(curved) that probably means the one I got is bogus.(early tooling etc)
However, if all of yours are the non-curved type Then its probably safe to assume that that's just the way they are all are made...
I would appreciate any time or effort you could make to help clarify this....
thanks

An update:
In Mid-November, Classic Industries got back to me. After sending the pictures to AMD and reviewing my case they sent me a FULL refund for the glass and the original freight.
It took a while,,, I had to provide proof to CI that the glass they sent me was destroyed (So I wouldn't try to resell for profit I guess)... So I took it to the junk yard and had my daughter film me whilst I threw it over the wall...
Although time consuming and frustrating as hell... Classic Industries stood by their satisfaction warranty/guarantee. They didn't hide behind it like so many parts vendors do. That (to me) speaks volumes about them and their business.
The customer service rep who handled my case was extremely helpful and was prompt returning emails/texts/phone calls. as well as staying in touch with AMD throughout the process. I won't publish his name on a public forum without his permission, but if any of you want it send me a PM.
There are several very pricey parts that CI carries that I will need in the not to distant future....Based on this experience, I will certainly keep using them.
Hope this helps Good luck with your projects
