I tried a set years ago. They were too loose for my mid 9 sec car and wouldn't allow it to hook.

It really depends on power level.
We have Competition Engineering 3 way and they work great at 90/10 for the 11.0 to 11.50 range. Extend quickly, get the front up and keep it there.
As we got faster than 11.0-ish, and deep into the 10's, the front would rise TOO quickly, wheelie a little and then come down too fast causing the rear to unload.
I have them at the 70/30 setting for the faster times and that seems to work better by slowing the extension. I updated the rears to Viking Crusaders but really need fronts and the Calvert rear/CE front combo seems to be getting the job done for now...
'63 Dodge 330 11.19 @ 121 mph Pump gas, n/a, through the mufflers on street tires with 3.54's. 3,600 lbs. 10.01 @ 133mph with a 250 shot of nitrous an a splash of race gas. 1.36 60 ft. 3,700 lbs.

Needed more fore street traction with drag radials.

I tried a set years ago. They were too loose for my mid 9 sec car and wouldn't allow it to hook. Same here, low 10's. One pass was enough for us to put our old c/e 3 ways back on. Though results may vary, I've seen lighter cars with less power run well with them. Personally I'd go to good d/a shocks from day one and not go through differing manufacturers looking for a good shock like I did. With a D/A you can change the settings to match what the car wants as you progress ET wise.

Save your money and buy something that is double adjustable.
IMO all those single adjustable shocks are worthless.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

Making it loose is easy. In the old days, guys would drill a small hole in the bottom and drain the oil. And put 6 cylinder springs in.
Controlling pitch rotation is harder. Putting it on the bumper and having it crash down and bounce 4 or 5 times is bad.
Your situation dictates how much money you need to spend on shocks.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

IMO all those single adjustable shocks are worthless. Agreed! Spend the money once! Extending quickly is not always best!
