I went to a private track rental this past weekend and did some testing. Best was 1.37 60ft and 6.19@109 on 15 lbs of boost. AFR seemed a little fat at 10.9 to 11.2, but not bad, though I may lean it out a tad...have to think about it. Made a change to run 17 lbs of boost and the AFR was way rich (mid 10's). I should have taken a closer look at the logs while there and made a change and 1 more pass but decided to stop at that point.

What are you guys running for an air shifter for a 727? What is the total price for everything?

Buddy of mine finally scrapped his Turbo action shifter with air, to a PPP air shifter. No complaints, and now it works every pass, unlike the old TurdAction shifter.

I have run a co2 shift solenoid, (ACD?) on a B &M ratchet shifter since 2002. Flawless. Just make sure you have CO2!

What is the air and solenoid stuff you speak of? It must have something to do with that trans brake dohickey.

I am having a new PPP air shifter with clean neutral being built right now for my 64. They are not cheap but IMO the best and original one.

WHEW!! was afraid the “repo” man was going to show up at my door!

My T/A cheatya out of a round shifter was truly an automatic shifter….. the force of launch would make the 1-2 shift on its own. Luckily for me the mopar guy creed got me good money on resale, and Al called me on a used PPP that fit my needs. I’d gladly pay full pop for a PPP after using one. It’s a great shifter.

Isn’t it funny how, since 1984, and mine hasn’t done the 1-2 deal. Biondo and Deadenbear both, USED to sell co2 shifters for T/A.

I have an old guy with old worn out TA shifters in both his cars. Has trouble with both of them. Won't let me replace them because he's an old guy. I hate the dumb things.

Yep, if something doesn’t work, replace it.

Jay I think have sold a dozen of them to folks over the years. I sold two at the MATS last year and guys were trying to beat me up on the price. I will have mine that is currently in the 64, it is red with no air and a clean N. I seem to come across them frequently from comp and SS guys.

Well, yeah.

The 1-3 deal on the one with the air shift is just the beginning,

I much prefer the Hurst Quarter Stick with a cable upgrade or B&M Pro Stick if you don't want to spring for a PPP.

I've used a Pro Bandit style shifter on a two speed and liked it. Not sure how the B&M version is. Never looked at one.

How is availability on those new right now? I may try to upsell my guy and put something decent in his cars.

It's best to contact Ben Holt, at John Holt Racecars. He somehow has the best inside track of ordering from PPP.

Do you need a reverse lockout with the push buttons?
