Why would you need to have a functional to kick down with a Blower motor??

A 727 relies on KD lever position to determine how much pressure to apply to clutches and bands. If it's loose, full power will burn everything up. If set to max, every shift will spin the tires even on light shifts.

If you were to speed up the ratio by 1/2 and have the throttle just pull on an extension spring[low tension]I think you could do it if you get my idea. I do and didn’t think about adding the spring but if you look at my levers I have already advanced the kickdown about 40% so I think adding a stiff spring would probably simplify it.

With a blown motor you really need a manual valve body, good sprag, and a billet front drum or you are playing with fire.......

That is only a throttle return for the most part.I don't see it controlling the trans at all. I thought you were saying to add a spring inline with the kickdown cable which will actually work to solve over extension

Plus I believed I would have to get a different shifter with the manual valve body. I’ve had them in two other cars but that was a long time ago.

50 years ago I drove a full manual (reverse) valve body on the street (E-booger and I converted the VB using the Chrysler kit). It was a misery to drive in traffic, even with 4.89 axle. 1 drop of rain makes the car undriveable. You can't shift unless the steering is centered, the car will climb a tree. My 520 hp turbo Lexus's A340E auto trans has a spark retard during shifts to save the friction materials as OEM (25 years ago).

manual valve body in trans That’s a possibility but also a last resort. Why? Real cars have to be manually shifted

How does that work for you? Those cables look like the cheaper ones I can't think of the correct name of them now

I don't find street driving with a manual VB a problem it all. My car has 4.10s and an 8" converter. Once you are moving you just click the shifter twice and high is all you need until you stop again lol.
To go along with what you said I have never heard anything good about the Lokar kickdown cable kit.

To go along with what you said I have never heard anything good about the Lokar kickdown cable kit. I never had trouble either and I don’t quite follow what he was saying. I never used an aftermarket cable kit until this one and it blows my mind how many people suggested these lokar kits like they’re a good thing. They’re terrible! I toss that up to bandwagon commenters who never actually do anything but say a lot. So about the kickdown - I know how I can make it work but came here to see if anyone had a better idea. Like I said before, I’m not opposed to manual valve body but I’m tired of adding this and that - just ready to drive it some.
