Redeye's and Hellcats are over my pay grade. My small block Dart has been almost 135 in the 1/4, and is a hoot on the street, 400 more horsepower would make it exciting.

Maybe I need to try the decal thing. biggrin

I've always said that if I ever found myself with a ton of excess cash that I'd buy a really nice 69 Z28. Then stuff a nasty Hemi, 727 and a Dana in it, then hit the shows and drag strip.

Not that mine is a world beater. As well as N/SS I've raced at many tracks in the Mi, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky area in the Pro/No Box class. Plenty of engine combos in the field. A few light tube cars but mostly stuff like mine, a real car. The number of cars that are dialed quicker is a handfull at best. Garantee there are way more BB Chevys. Does this mean they aren't as good? Absolutley not. But what it shows is what power level the quicker No Box bracket racers run as an average. I've had more than a few BB Chevys give dyno numbers that I would guess are north of what mine would make. Most are slower.

How much can you build a 1000hp on pump 93 engine using new parts for?

Exactly this. Considering the complete fuel injection system is included, it's a steal. Just in the last 5 years I've seen basic parts like cranks, rods and heads increase cost by 10-15%, and the aftermarket block cost is well, well beyond that. Even doing the work yourself, if you're buying new it's hard not to have less than that in a legit, reliable 1000 hp engine without a power adder.

I used to think 1000 hp was useless until the advent of all of the no prep style races. People get cars with 1500+ down surfaces as bad as regular streets with no issue these days, and the modern EFI technology is one of the reasons it is possible.

Exactly, power management. Look at what guys are running on an 8.5" or a 235 tire.

Just to clarify I was talking about Chrysler engines in GM bodies. In response to:

Springs have come a long ways so I bet they last a long time.

I don't have that much lift but I run around .650 at the valve and had a set of comp endurance springs that I used for 3 drag weeks and 5 years worth of occasional racing and driving. No issues with them and the car ran a new best ET right before I took them out and went to a different cam and springs that slowed the car down. wrench mad

If Mopar sold something similar, people would complain it was painted the wrong shade of orange.

Or my stamped rockers, intake, or exhaust won't work. It doesn't look like my stock _______. I've said for years Mopar guys are their own worst enemy.

If any Mopar equivalent power plant was the same price, I think people with deeper pockets would buy. If higher, Chevrolet it is.

Mopar would add it to the Direct Connections catalog with a "delivery soon!" and no ETA, then point to limited demand.
