What´s a correct one?
Thanks! '68 or '69 I think they are different?? I know that a 2949054 is spec'd for '69 Hemi's and A12 440 M-codes and I think a 2898048 for a '68 Hemi. The 048 rad photo is from a '68 RR but I have a photo of a '69 low mile (less than 9k at the time only drag raced its entire ownership time by the original owner) Hemi Super Bee with a Scheduled Production Date (SPD) of January 02, 1969 and it has the origianl radiator with 2898048. Don't know if there was a running change for early and late Hemi radiators"". The 054 radiator photo is from a '69 A12 Super Bee. Then there's the large font, small font early, later production discussion for the 054. So you will need to know, if it really matters, for the '69 B-body the SPD of the car. Need the '68, '69 B-body Hemi experts to chime in. Mike

048 was correct for 68 but was there some spill over into 69 to use them up ??? That's what I was thinking as I don't think there was a major difference between the 048 and 054 or was there? I know the '69 Hemi Super Bee with the '68 048 radiator had an SPD of January 02, 1969 and still had the pre '69 black door handle buttons too. My December 16, 1968 SPD '69 GTX still had the black door handle button too as I've seen a lot on pre Jan 01, 1969 SPD built cars and the radiator font was LARGE FONT.

If you want to call, I should be able to let you know what radiator you need, either small or large font. As far as the 048 in the 69 car, I have never seen that. What is the date code on the side bracket?
Thanks, Bob 1.800.537.3775

Thanks, Bob 1.800.537.3775 Bob, I don't know the date code on the bracket? The car was at a local cruise in when I spotted it and the owner told me the history of it that it was all original and only used for drag racing its entire life with the previous original owner. It had, at the time, less than 9,000 miles on the odometer. I went to search for some Hemi radiator cars when I remembered the '69 Bee. I don't have a real good close up of the radiator part number but I swear it looks like 2898048 and has a Scheduled Production Date of January 2, 1969. Here it is and what do you think? Does the side shot of the right side of the radiator help with the difference between the 048 and 054? It does to me as at the same cruise was a '69 RT with an 054 radiator (SPD A22) and looking at the photo it appears the black Hemi Bee's side mount to the firewall tap is longer as the area above and below the bolt is larger? Hey Mike, I can see from your 048 radiator pictures that it has the 054S side brackets on it. The small font 054 was made by Long radiator and the 048 radiators were made by Blackstone. The hook pocket on the bracket is a dead give away. My guess is death by fan, found a used radiator in the local salvage reclamation yard and put his brackets on it. It's stuff we did at the time also back in those days. It was just a car that needed a radiator with the correct connection locations.
Bob Bob, so what is the difference between a 054 side bracket and a 054 S side bracket? Mike

My hemi bee has an SPD of 31 Jan and is small font 054. I spoke with Glenn Ray about this few years back and he said mid year cars have a small font compared to the later build one's which had large font.

Yup. If was smarter I could figure out how to post a picture!! If you send me your #, I will send you a picture to post. Bob, click on "EDIT" or do a new reply then go down to the lower left and click on "Attachment Manager" this will bring up a "Select a File to Attach" click on that and go to the folder where the photo is, select it and click "OPEN" at the lower right and you're done. Post Reply and if it's not bigger that 4 MB you then have learned how to post photos and we will all enjoy them, promise. Mike
