67 was the first year for a B body.
B440 is for a 66 model car, which would be a C body by default. Any 67 B body 440 should be C440 with an HP stamp.
Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat Hear my motor screamin while I'm tearin up the street

That is incorrect,Dodge made 67 L code Chargers with the C 440 HP engines too. Approximately 600 automatic cars, and 132 4 speed cars.

The B 440 engine was the standard engine in 1966 Chrysler Imperial cars. They are not C body cars. IIRC Imperials are D body cars.

You could get a 426 Hemi in a 66 Coronet, but not a 440. The 383 B engine was the largest displacement wedge engine available in that car. Although I wonder if the 426 street wedge might have still been available. I know it was in 65.

Trying to find out the first year that Mopar produced a 440 engine in a b body and to my understanding it was 1967 which also had the closed chambered heads(casting #915 ?). Looking at a 1967 coronet with a B440 stamp on the upper portion of the block. This would indicate 1966 to me. Maybe it's correct if the car is an early build ?? What says the Mopar community ?? Thanks for any input Bennoel B was the crossover year. I had a B426 block (wedge block) but B440 engines are a lot more common. C was a much bigger year for the 440. You'll easily find 10x more C440 than B440. I've never seen a B440 and I've been buying big block engines for 30 years.
