That might be an idea.

I know I just don't want it to corrode/oxidize like aluminum usually does.

It's not a show car, but I want to try to keep the car cleaning duties to a minimum if possible.

You know, wash it down and dry it with an air hose type of thing. laugh2

I'm not into car detailing after every wash.

I Recommend Vapor Blasting your intake. Gives a fresh aluminum look but not dull like regular bead blasting, and it stays clean.
Here's a current pic of mine done 2 1/2 years ago.

I've been making some progress on this project (along with some others).
I've been working on getting this engine ready to install in her Charger and working on my dune buggy.

Some of the time has been spent waiting on parts.

Luckily I did a test fit on the headers while it was still on the engine stand.

I found out that the header flanges wouldn't sit flat to the heads until after I trimmed the excess cometic head gaskets from hanging out past the heads in a few spots and a little grinding for clearance on the header flanges.
They were holding the headers out from sitting flush and I'm sure that would have been a header leak.

After that was done I installed and torqued the flexplate and then I got the engine set down in the engine compartment, it still has to be hooked up to the transmission.

Little by little it's getting done, the main thing is to hopefully have it ready for her by spring. laugh2

Nice progress, it will be awesome when finished.
I just got my 5.7 and 518 swap finished after 18 months and that 1st drive was sweet!

Do you cut that GoMango with anything or just spray it right out of the gun? Also, what did you do to prep the engine prior to paint? My 6.4 is still wearing the factory black, wasn't sure how I planned to prep it.

Mines sprayed with PPG Deltron Hemi Orange without metalic in it, reducer and catalyst/hardner mixed in it.

Cleaned the engine with brakekleen and sprayed with self etching primer.
