Has anyone used the Holley Retrofit LED plug in headlights? If so, do you like them, much improvement over stock and how do they look installed? Expensive but considering a set, 4 light system.

I don’t have the Holley LED’s, I couldn’t stomach the price. I ended up using a set from Oracle that I think were less than $200 for all four.

I’d do it again in a second, they made an incredible difference at night compared to the sealed beams.

If you don’t like bright white be sure to find a warmer hue though, they typically are sold with different options of warm vs. cool.

This doesn’t do the difference justice.

stick to the 4500-5000 lumen. They are closer to the color (not yellowish but more clear white) we are used to but give much better light. Any higher lumens and you start geting into the blue white lights and they don't work as well.

Not Holleys, but I did put a set of GE NightHawks on my 51. Major difference. Especially when you remember that the 51 originally had 6v incandescent bulbs. May as well have used a candle.

One major issue, if you drive it like I do, they will not melt snow.

Got a link to those? I like the stock look and am considering going LED if they are plug and play and look stock.

If you can find housings that except replacement bulbs you can use them with a led bulb. These are still reflector style so light quality will be better than the stock sealed beam. What led bulb you use can effect the light pattern so get the swivel type. Something similar to this.

Thanks for all the replies, sounds like it’s a nice upgrade and a significant improvement over stock.

I didn't go with the Holley's due to the price and the Holley logo across the front of the bulb.
I just ordered from "Headlight Experts".

They are lifetime guarantee and are made of glass and metal.
They don't have that aftermarket look to them which was important to me.

I just checked their website, looks like a better option. I’ve never heard of them before, thanks. Any issue with installation?

I take it back, they were Octane, not Oracle, 220, 221… whatever it takes. Lol

They are supposed to be here Monday. Certain lights they build as ordered so it took about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks.

No offense to your lights but that was also a look I wanted to avoid, I want them to look as stock as possible.

Yeah, it's not for everyone. I didn't want the halos around the lights but didn't mind the bulb reflector being visible in the middle.

Edit: will also say the best part is the light output doesn't vary with voltage like the original sealed beams did, it's constant regardless of engine speed or battery state of charge.

as my charger has hideaway lights, all i want is something that will light up the road.
as of now, in the high beams, i have aircraft landing lights. [relays DEFINITELY required] those things really light up the road, but put off some heat i don't particularly like, unless i'm moving. [blowing the heat away.]
i have halogens in the low beam spots, but i still would like [need] something brighter for my eyeballs, without blinding oncoming drivers.
lots of the new stuff have lights that are almost too bright, so there has to be something out there i can use.
the brightness "may" be caused [or the perception thereof] by the different headlight "designs" now used, instead of the old style round headlights.

Here U go...
I installed (4) 5.75" Holley Retro-Brites(classic white) in my 70 RoadRunner.
Also I fabricated my own Y wiring harness so each pair is wired in parallel, so I have (4) low or (4) high beams.
The lites are bright and have a wide dispersion far superior to the OE incandescent bulbs, but no problem for oncoming traffic.
The other major point is they have a nice rear aluminum heat sink and go into the OE mounting buckets without any cutting.
For more info check out the latest Hemmings Muscle Machines for a positive review...

Just my $0.02... wink

I found this website, they offer many different types on 7 inch round bulbs.

I converted one of mine to relays.
That way the head light switch is not in the power loop. All it does it control relays
HUGE difference without spending a ton of money And I still use the stock bulb

Using relays for the headlites helps a lot for brightness but...
In my case I wanted wider lite dispersion and brightness, and the Holley LEDs provide this, plus they draw less current than the OE bulbs..
