I would have left it as a 70 and built a low deck stroker for it. $325k seems WILDLY optimistic!

I think this car belongs to a friend of a friend. The guy also had an AAR with a 5 speed for sale recently. I saw the AAR at a cars and coffee event. I haven’t seen this one.

I agree with your assessment. As a 1 of 1 car, I'd store the original engine and build a 400-based stroker to look stock. But that number... I was thinking typo, maybe $235... and that still seems rich to me.

Hmmm...Los Altos, and the guy's garage, tell me that he didn't mind changing a 1-of-1 car into a version of a big-bucks auction car.
I'd venture to say most of the Mopar world sees modifying a car like that differently. OK, to each his own.
I agree on the big stock-appearing engine & leaving it in '70 styling if it was my car.
Price-wise, maybe I'm missing something, but half that price would be pretty strong money, no ?

In the 80's and 90's people were taking real 340 and 383 convertibles and turning them into hemi clones because there was less to do in terms of finding parts and making it look correct. At that time those cuda convertibles were worth more with the hemi in them. Things are different now and it is basically more desirable with the original type drive train I believe. A 1970 cuda convertible sold earlier this year at Barrett Jackson for 137k. It seemed like a nicely restored car. FY1 yellow with black interior and top, 383, 4spd. It was also 1 of 1 like the rest of these cars

That is definitely a one of one car! A 1970 Cuda convertible partially converted to a 1971 Cuda convertible.

Are the parts on the car factory Chrysler parts or reproduction parts?

It will take a lot to return that back to it's original 1970 Cuda convertible form.

After all of that it will still never have a lot of it's original factory parts that should still be with the car.

Parts needing replacement. They really should be replaced with real factory Chrysler parts because of the rarity of the car.

The value also depends on how many other parts are reproduction. Those Rallye rims look like reproductions.

How many other parts are reproduction? Is the shaker hood, shaker bubble, shaker assembly, 71 Grille, etc reproduction?

Is the Hemi engine an original, what year, reproduction, etc?

Looks to be very nice and a fun ride. But what I see is a nice hot rod and if that’s what one wants great, but originality is gone forever. Never to be a # car as running gear along with much original sheet metal and other pieces are gone. If I was looking at a car like this I would want to see pictures of car before all ‘71 parts were installed. Was there any damage to car that helped in decision with installing’71 parts or was it just the look and or rarity of a ‘71 ? It don’t hurt to shoot for the moon with asking price as there seems to be a lot of people out there with extra money, but as far as investment there are a lot better choices for a 1/3 of this asking price…….

That car is 15 min from me and that part of town loves their holiday caviar and fancy wines. Probably looking to sell it before the market implodes in March.
