The pipe slides up inside the blow mold and the bolt will go from the outside of the blow mold into the conduit, which is basically a stand and securing it onto the conduit. So I don't think I could get a clamp on it. I am also thinking that I should use a couple nuts to give it a little more stability.
I like these coupling nuts to go inside. 3/8" across flat so I would still need the JB weld or something... https://www.amazon.com/Pack-4-20-Coupling-Plate-NCUP004C000STLZN/dp/B07TKC86RW/ref=sr_1_4?crid=33A2PQWQEWX6D&keywords=1%2F4-20+coupling+nut&qid=1669171727&s=industrial&sprefix=1%2F4-20+coupl%2Cindustrial%2C140&sr=1-4
IDEA>>> squeeze the conduit at top??? Then put the JB in there so it wouldn't fall out?

Maybe something like this? hexagonal-extension-nut-connector-female-screw-rod
Get it in a size a little bigger that the inside diameter of the conduit, file it down and JB weld or Appoxy it in.

What 'metal conduit' are you using, rigid or EMT?

I was close to my regular hardware store. Spotted these. How much holding power do you need. They are called Well Nuts and expand when you tighten them.

i have done that riv-nut trick many times. i have the tool, but there are so many times it's just too big to get into the spot you need. my recommendation, if you want to do riv-nuts and don't have the tool, do like the video and save your money. the only thing i will add, use a grade 8 bolt so you won't snap it off during the install.

P.S. I am looking for one more of these reindeer. It is a BECO.
Those things are going for $200 or more if you can even find one. I think I would put a motorcycle cable lock on the one you have or at least more than a conduit post...........just saying and just kidding.....just a little. Yes, these are getting expensive. Remaking these old blow molds might be a good business! I would hope they wouldn't be stolen but now I will probably wire it up just in case. These have been in the family for over 45 years. My dad used to but them up on the roof. The sleigh has taken a lot of damage over the years so I have to fix it best I can before I put in the yard.

Just using thin wall conduit, found in the electrical section at home depot. They don't need to support much weight. The blow mold weigh few pounds at most. The wind is more of a concern I think.
So I checked out the coupling nuts and those other ones with the ridges I posted. I also checked out rivet nuts and some of those that have a wide "collar" on one end. Most were too small with a 1/4" x 20 so I stepped up to 3/8". A 3/8" regular nut provided a tight fit, so I threaded 2 of those on a bolt. I then tapped that into the end of the conduit. I figured 2 nuts would give me better stability. I was pretty happy with using two nuts, I could have used a 3/8 coupling nut but needing to make 9 of these, I went the economy route. They are a tight fit into the conduit so I don't think I will need use any product to hold them in. They also didn't warp the conduit when tapping in. It may have put a slight "shape" into them but it isn't noticeable and they still fit in the opening of the blow mold. I will have to make the hole a little bigger for the 3/8 bolt.
I appreciate all the recommendations. P.S. I am looking for one more of these reindeer. It is a BECO. Seems you managed a very simple, low cost, method to achieve your goal. Well Done There !!!
