Is there a cheap simple swap using dodge parts to install a 4spd od or 5 spd of some kind?

Will the 3spd bellhousing work on either a 4spd od or 5spd?

Currently the 3spd needs a clutch so of course I am thinking...

Find a 4 or 5 speed transmission set up out of an early 80s - mid 90s pickup and swap it in. Get everything from the donor truck.

Dodge used the 833od 4 speed to 1987. The aluminum case isn't bushed for the secondary shaft.. The np2500 started in 88 behind v6's, not sure about 318's. It's light duty. Dodge changed to the ax15 in v6 Dakota and finally to the nv3500. The nv3500 came out in 94? ( Can't use 5.9 flywheel) It is probably the one you should look for. If you want easy, find a d150 up to 93. I would think it would mostly bolt in. You should grab everything.
