I have an opportunity to purchase a 1970 Cuda convertable. Car originally was black on black. 383 magnum 4 speed. Car been sitting for over 15 years. It has a funky 70's paint job on it. Drivetrain out. It retains its original 4 speed trans but has no motor for it. I currently have no pictures of the car but rust seem minimal. It will need to be restored. any idea as to current value without pictures of condition?

Based on the limited info…I’ll say 25-50k. A TX9 4 speed vert is a highly desireable Cuda! That assumes clear title and VIN tag and Fendertags are present, in addition to your minimal rust comment. I would build it as a 440, but many people would redo it as a 383.

A 400 low deck stroker would be the way to go in that car for correct appearance and better than stock power. That's a 60k car in this market as it sits,so if you can buy it for less buy it.

Agreed on the 400/451 stroker if the desired result is stock fender tag appearance, but I would want to badge it as a 440, hence the RB selection for me. I have a 70 N Code Cuda that now sports a 440 and 440 emblems and hockey sticks.

Found this sitting i a garage for 30 plus years....Rust is minimal..drivetrain long gone . It was a 383 n code with 4 speed and 3.91 rear. What do you think?

Very interesting......

I actually viewed that car in person......Give or take about 30 years ago! In that garage!

We had done some previous parts transactions and he then asked if I would like to see the car. Incredible that it is still there.

I think you shouldn't have reviled it cause those that know about it may try to get it out from under you, move quick if you want it.

I know I may sound crazy but I think this is worth 60k and depending on the condition, possibly 70k. I don't think a nom hurts a 383 car as much as it would other big block options as I think it would be the least desirable engine in a cuda. It may not be worth that much and you may not want to pay it, but I'm sure somebody else would. Not everyday you see a TX9 four speed cuda convertible. And for reference, I saw this 318 barracuda convertible with no drivetrain advertised locally for 50k and sell for that, needing to be restored.

Agreed. That pic looks better (in my mind anyway) than the original post. I’d try for 50, and jump on it!
