Thanks to all who've served!

Thanks to all that put it on the line for all of us, and a belated Happy Birthday to all the Devil Dogs from a proud dad of a Marine.

Sorry honey I spent the rent

From one veteran to all others, thankyou for your service!
I owe my life to a Medal of Honar recipient. Seaman Elmer Bigelow served on my dads ship in WW2, and after an enemy shell started a fire in the forward powder magazine, Seaman Bigelow jumped into the burning magazine and put out rhe fire without protective gear, saving DD445 Fletcher (destroyer) from almost certainly sinking. He died from burned lungs two days later. My dad was a sonarman, at the bottom of the ship. So Seaman Bigelow, through his ultimate sacrifice, allowed my life to become reality, and my Journey in life into dragracing.

happy veterans day to all that served. I know Al Aquire is a vet on here as is a lot of others. As I look back at the 2 years I spent in Germany I know that my contribution and others has made this a better place to live and allowed us to drag race and live our lifes as we want.Birdtracker

Thanks Tony! I appreciate any selfless contribution anyone makes to this country. I learned a while ago that Jay Waxler and I were stationed at Minot AFB at the same time. Personally, I do feel less deserving the recognition than say a fighting war vet but, the military had a way to make us take the cold-war serious!

Never forget the oath you took, and the risk of ultimate sacrafice. Some dodged the draft, some fled to Canada, you didn't. You served. Even those who faced hostile fire feel (wrongly!) Thier contribution was less than others. I felt that way for some time, till at some point i realized i did exactly what was needed, when the time came. And so did you. Stand tall, Veteran!

I was drafted in 1966, I had tried to join the Air Force in 1963 along with my cousin but I had quit high school in the spring semester of my junior year in 1962 and the Air Force wouldn't take me without a GED or diploma.
My how things changed after LBJ got reelected rant puke How many Americans were killed in that stupid endeavor to stimulate our economy, 60,000 + ?
I was stationed in Germany in an Honest John rocket battalion, we sat on our thumbs around 70 % of the time whiney.
That taught me to appreciate being busy instead of standing on my head in a corner holding my breath and twiddling my thumbs: puke: Man, I hated that: rant:

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
