Rifling through some old boxes in the basement and came across a crankshaft I am not sure what it actually is. In a Direct Connection crankshaft box with no part numbers on the box. Found some numbers on the 1st counterweight.

1st photo - 1282
2nd photo - 10-22-81 285

It's an 8 bolt flange crank with a pilot bushing installed. Doesn't appear to have ever been drilled for balancing, probably new still.

With that wide collar on the front it's a big block crank is about all I can tell you.

I love the smell of Deer guts in the morning, it smells like... VICTORY!

Did some more research and found crankshafts in an old Direct Connection Catalog. One crankshaft available at that time carries the last 3 digits 285 in the catalog. Maybe that's what it is...

Post a better pic of a main and rod journal showing if it has a full radius journal or undercut.

If full then AAR4Fun nailed it.

Both are Full Radius. Guess it's an old Kellogg crank.

If I recall the only difference between the SS and ProStock cranks were runout, more select (less RO) for Pro.

They were great cranks.
