Finally after a lot of headaches, I was able to dyno my 563 today. Very happy with the results, and I have to thank Thumper, for building one heck of a carb, and nailing the setup from the start.

Here is a run down of the combo:
INDY RB aluminum block
Molnar 4.375” crank
Molnar 7.100 rods
Diamond 4.524 bore pistons
13.4:1 compression
INDY 440-1 345CNC heads, prepped by Dwayne Porter
INDY 440-3X intake
Erson roller cam 288/302 duration
2.125-2.250 headers w/4” collector
Jesel belt drive
Milodon oiling system
MSD distributor w/ crank trigger

We made 9 pulls total. Mainly wanted to get the timing right, and carb setup right. Didn’t test any magical part of the month stuff.

Attached is the final pull we made.

Congratulations on a nice combination and looks like a healthy motor. What lifters did you go with? Was that the peak hp or did it keep climbing?

They are Comp lifters. Board member/ friend R3 Racing aka Ron, gave me a too good to pass up deal on a extra set he had, that were just rebuilt.

That smiles says it all..........

Nice job and congrats, Jeff! Man, I know it feels good to shake all the adversity thrown your way throughout the process, but it all worked out. Plenty of power and grunt for sure! It has some more in it! Can't wait to hear the track videos when the hammer drops and gears are being rowed.

What fuel was being used?

Wes

Good numbers for passenger car headers with all the tight bends. A carb spacer would probably add another 10 or 15 hp if you have room under the hood.

The engine is going into my ‘68 Road Runner. Car is a back half 4 link. With this engine and trans combo, it should weigh right around 3050lbs, with me in the car. Car is equipped with a Liberty Clutchless 4 speed, and Soft Lok clutch worked over by Black Magic.

Most likely would have made more power, but didn’t see any reason to try anything that wouldn’t fit in the car. Dyno operator asked, and I just told him I wanted to optimize what I had, and wasn’t looking for a hero dyno sheet. I’m more that happy with the results, and at the end of the day, I just want to go racing again, and hang out with my friends. I’ll adjust the shoe polish on the window accordingly.

On a perfect day, you wouldn’t be able to wipe the smile off my face, if I was handed a time slip like that.

Outstanding!!!

With the weather we're having you might be able to get it in the car and make passes before the snow flies!

I’ll wait for spring. No tracks open around here anymore.

Looks like you have room for a carb spacer. A Wilson four to one combo spacer will add power on the 3X. Could be 10 to 15 on that engine.

Great Average hp number! Remember its more AVERAGE HP that moves the car quicker, not peak.
