Looking for window felts for my 71 Charger R/T. I prefer the TopCatwiskers brand but there seems to be no availability anywhere. Has this company gone out of business? Or should I patiently wait? I see no phone number for them that I call and ask. Any help guys?

The owner of top cat Fritz Wurgler passed away and they will no longer be in business. They had good quality window felts its sad to see them no longer making them

The Top Catwhiskers brand of products is still in business and still under the same ownership since its creation. The felts are manufactured in Windber, PA at the Quirey Quality Design facility. Dave Mihalko and his employees have been manufacturing this line of window felts and other pieces since the mid 80's. Dave and I have worked together on numerous business projects and ventures over the past 37 years to bring quality restoration products to the market place.

As with all businesses that have been impacted with the Covid pandemic, the ability to acquire the necessary materials to construct the felts is real. There is only one supplier for some of these pieces necessary to construct the felts. We have been dealing with this issue since the Fall of 2020. Things are starting to get a bit better, but still no where near the capacity of say 2019. Seeking out a quality substitute for some of the channel was going to be as much as a 400% increase in cost for the material. We could never justify that cost to our customers.

Fritz created the First Place Auto Parts, FPAP, line of window felts. He had a quality product and manufactured a variety of pieces as well. With his passing, Trim Parts, a part of the RPUI family, acquired the business. Trim Parts continues to offer some of the pieces that Fritz had the tooling for.

As for those in need of the window felts, all I can say is be patient. Reach out to your favorite vendor who carries the Top Catwhiskers to check on availability and to get your name on the waiting list. Felts are being shipped regularly as material comes in, unfortunately, some of the material for certain applications is more difficult to come by.

IIRC, that's the same town that Restoration Specialties is located in.
I've bought a lot of stuff from them over the years, including window seals, windlace, etc etc.

is this the same Mihalko that advertises windows on my local tv 6 o'clock news ?
