I have three OE converters from (I suspect, need to check for part #) 69-72 BB 727s. Is it typical an OE converter would be worth anything more than scrap value?

Last I heard - which was a few years ago when I needed a 3500 stall converter - cores were hard to come by for rebuilders.

I was looking at a Hughes converter this spring on Summit Racings website. Hughes is now charging a $100 core charge on all converters. Not sure if they are buying cores outright or not.

Interesting, I am about to scrap half a dozen OEM converters, wonder if I can sell them to rebuilders...

For several years, factory converter cores have been hard to find, especially the 10 3/4" (11").

Don't know what they're worth, but I give the stock units I don't need to my local converter builder. Don't scrap them!

Tried that here with some TH350 convertors last summer and the local trans parts seller did not want them. Guy said hardly anyone rebuilds the old school 3 speed autos anymore other than the drag car guys, who just buy aftermarket race parts. He said the 3 speed market is slowly dying off and guys building their cars for the street are moving to OD transmission swaps.
