Is this a '70 only shifter, or '70-'71?
If it fits a '71, then it could be from an E or B body...correct?

That looks like a E body only shifter to me, all the 1966 to 1971 B body with and without consoles all had a lot longer shifter handle the 1970 4 speed Cuda I owned and raced, same thing on the A body shifters twocents
I've owned more than one E body 4 speed cars, they all had that shifter without the consoles up

That mech and shifter will work in any E-body 70-74 and 71-74 B-body with buckets seats.

But IMHO, 70 E-body only, perhaps some early 71's used that slide in shifter handle and mechanism as pictured above.

71 and up E & B used the bolt in shifter handle and mechanism as pictured here.

Thanks yall. I was thinking 1970 and maybe some 1971 models used the slide-in handle, but I'm certainly no expert.

Generally I would say it's 1970 E body. But...I have seen them in early 71 cars also. Have also seen bolt on E body pistol grips in late built 70 cars.

Most of the 71 B body cars used press-in also regardless of bench or bucket seats.

I have an early '71 build RR and it has the slide in handle just like the one pictured.
