Geez, almost all seem to think they have to get up as much speed as possible to make it through, which just pushes more water up over the hood and engine. I wonder how many also let off gas and sucked water into engine. Seems all the Land Rovers and a Jeep made it plus one or two other that were equipped for high water. You'd think their equivalent of Public Works would've barricaded it off.

I noticed that also, funny the one who opened the door so the water could get out......devalued a good many cars in that vid. The Range Rovers seemed to do well. The Tesla made it through

You'd think their equivalent of Public Works would've barricaded it off. I've BEEN the guy putting out barricades to block off a flooded road, with signs that say " "Road Closed", Water Over Road" and Turn Around-Don't Drown". People will drive around you, drag the barricades out of their way so they can get through, whatever it takes so they're not inconvenienced by having to take an unfamiliar route. I wish I had a dollar for every time somebody told me I had to let them through because, "That's the way I get home!" We had our water department close a road due to a water main leak, and had an excavator sitting in the road digging it up. A (non-American-born) doctor drove around their barricades into the worksite, cuss out the workers for digging up HIS road when he needed to get home, then drive up a driveway through peoples front yards until his Mercedes got stuck in a flower bed.

I have a 97 Cherokee that has a 5" lift and 35" tires. I can do a slow water crossing headlight deep no problem, it won't even leak water into the inside despite the water being halway or more up the door. Now the keyword there is a SLOW water crossing, you can't go fast because the air filter is inches above the water at that point. However, if you come to a stop it immediately fills with water lol. Its amazing how such a slow crawl keeps it dry but its bubble bubble glug glug as soon as you stop.

I know. They will practically run down a Police cars with the lights going and then argue. But at least the half way sane people will get the idea.

I liked the guys on the motorcycle's that took the pedestrian bridge  Yeah, most experienced dirt bike riders know the best line. I learned early on that when you approach a mud hole or water crossing to head for where the spectators are standing, they're are always standing and watching from the best spot.............like on the pedestrian bridge in this case. This was from a race in Sweden I took the line right in front of where the spectators are now after being moved back. Had to make a real tight left turn where the banner was then ran right along the ribbon and jumped the ditch. I cleared out the spectators that were right up against the ribbon (before it was removed and put farther back) by screaming that I was coming and revving the engine. They knew to scramble and get out of the way. Always go where the spectators and pedestrians are walking or standing. MikeR
