I have a customer who is needing a three or variable speed wiper motor for his 70 Cuda. He does not need the correct 077, per say, he just needs one that will work. It is my understanding that a rebuilder can change the mechanical workings of a b or c body motor and “ Index” it for an ebody. I know there are several guys on here that restore wiper motors that should be able to help me out. I may have enough parts to get him a complete system but I may need some pieces so I’ll place an add in the parts wanted section when I get an inventory of what I need. Thanks in advance.

The big difference (I think) is the "park" function. On b-bodies the park position is just at the bottom of the wiper sweep. But on E-bodies the park position drops the wipers down into the cowl to be hidden by the hood.

One of my friends re-indexes (re-clocks) wiper motors all the time. How does he do it? Don't have a clue.

Any three speed will work, the crank lever and fitting needs to be for the 70 Cuda, but could already be there with the linkage. Adjusting the park notch is easy.

Thanks looking at all my 3 speed motors and a diagram I found, it looks easy to clock these for the correct application. I have a 72 up I can fix him up with but I’m not sure how the arm attaches to the crank pin the 70-71 uses a clip. How does the 72 up stay on?

72 Crank and crank arm are 1 year only. They change again in 73 up and have black bakeolite switchs.

If you have the underhood linkage check part numbers or post a pic to see if you have 70-71 linkage or 72-74. I have parts the will make any combination work.

in the february 2021 issue of Mopar action magazine, there is a tech article on wipers. [begins on page 58]
on page 60, there is a wiring diagram at the bottom of the page showing how to retro-fit a 2-speed wiper motor to a variable speed unit, using an e-bag item.
it states the item in question won't work on a 3-speed wiper motor, but as i don't have either here to test, i don't know how true it is. [and i still haven't figured out how to scan stuff on this new wind-hose 11 desk top i got early in the summer. down spank]
