Only major problem with it is the back end of the car. I didn’t think anything can be done that would make it look better.

When it comes to cheesy modifications, the PT Cruiser crowd remains undefeated. And the Prowler crowd are a very close second !!

I would have said Chevy HHR / SSR but Prowler works too.

I personally have always like the PT CRUISER. Even though a stupid name. I always thought that they looked liked late 30's era hot rods.I however have never owned one. I would not mind a GT in dark blue, black or the Woodward edition black/silver two tine.

[quote=poorboy) The intercooled turbo PTs were really fun cars. The standard turbo PT was fun and could run with stock 5.7 Hemi Chargers (before the supercharges were added).
Can you explain this a little more? Correct me if I am wrong- 2001 first year of PT. 2003 first year of PT GT. All GTs were intercooled. To my knowledge, there's never been a blown 5.7 in a production car. The standard PT had a simple EFI. and was based on the Neon platform. Because of the raised body, the PT was a bit heavier then a Neon. The 2001 PT was basically a slightly dressed 5 passenger sedan. In 2003 Chrysler offered a Limited Touring package (special option package) with turbo 2.4 drive train with out the intercooler. It was rated at 180hp compared to 160hp for the EFI version. The PT GT was offered later in 2003 (or early 2004), it was the 2.4 turbo motor with the intercooler and bumped the hp to 225. The GT was a high priced option with lots of extras (a GT was easily $5,000 or more above a loaded EFI version), and was the next step over the Limited Touring version. The 2006 (?) Chargers had the EFI 5.7 as an option with 345 hp, but were a much heavier car then the PT was. Wasn't the Charger Hellcat 1st introduced with a 5.7 Hemi with a blower? My son has a 2009 5.7 Hemi Charger with lots of miles on it (old squad car). My wife drives an 04 Limited touring PT with the 180hp turbo with 150K on the clock. Neither was in a well tuned state, but when both ladies were side by side and decided to "race". From a standing start, the PT hung even with the Charger up past 60, before my wife decided she didn't want a ticket and slowed down (35 speed zone).

Really being on the neon platform was a plus in many ways. Could of been a lot worse. True, and honestly I never hated them, but they were too SUV ish for me, that's all.
