I did a web search not to long ago to see who was still around me. [/quote] You're quite ignorant. I'm pretty sure you would be humbled very quickly if you chose to look into that further. Anyways, I travel PA for work, and I can tell you the machining industry is live and well here. Lots of heavy duty, ag, and semi stuff. The Amish and Mennonite families that have businesses have lots of their kids working for them, and they in turn either take over the operation or open up their own doing the same thing. However, when it comes to speed shop type rebuilders, I have noticed a few disappear over the years.

It's because "youngins" skip the traditional archaic machining processes of engine rebuilding and are running 5 axis machines, SLA, DMLS, and other more cutting edge machining operations.
