That will happen if you go too tall. It also happens if you go too deep. Really depends on the car as well as the converter.

I really like that car! punkrocka

I looked at a '67 GTX many years ago and the only reason I passed on it was I didn't think I could put enough tire under it to make it hook well on the street. This was well before readily available soft-compound DOT tires, and it would have definitely been raced more on the street than the track at that time. whistling

Fran, your GTX is hooking awesome! You have brought that car a long ways from the old days when you first got it into the 10's.

I figured that might be who did them. Our 275's are moving quite a bit on the wheels. We mark tire with a paint pen at the valvestem when new sets go on and it's crazy how much they move.

Looks like for a 28” tire(if that’s what he’s running) and 137-ish mph, along with the typical converter slip, 3.9’s seems right(7000-7200 trap rpm).

I agree, those EZ heads nose over once the engine gets past 7000 rpm.

Nice update Fran! I'd bet there is more MPH in it and a little more ET based on the incremetals. Do you have 330 and 660 and 1000ft ET/MPH?

Not sure if you have O2 data but that might help point to some gains, probably air directed into the carb. I think there's some MPH in there but not much more ET. So, as long as it's safe fuel over the run I'd almost leave things alone and enjoy. You have it running well.
