If all goes well I will be there, had to get my pushrods shortened which is pushing the timeline but most everything else is ready short of cleaning up some loose ends. Hopefully the new cam speeds it up, I likely won't know until the drag week test session Sunday evening.
I am registered for Street Race Small Block Naturally Aspirated. I got 3rd last year with a 10.57 average, the leader averaged in the high 8s. I might jump back in the Street Machine Eliminator Class that ends in the top 32 from the class in a bracket race. I jumped into the SRSBNA class last year because I wanted to run earlier in the day, I wasn't expecting to wake up Tuesday morning to find out I was in 2nd place in the class. They are supposed to have a new run order based off of ET so I should run earlier in the day regardless of class. I am curious to see how it works, I hated running in the late session in years past. Last year we left every track except for Byron before 9AM and I loved it. We missed out on some spectating but gained dinner time and sleep lol.
This is number 8 for me, number 7 going with my Dad.
418" 10:1 91 octane Small Block w2 R1 motor run by a kit built Megasquirt MS3X EFI, 904, Dana 60 3550lbs with driver. Best ET 10.42@126.9 best Drag Week ET is a 10.51 I think, best average 10.57.
I hope to repeat this picture from Byron that was taken last year.

They changed the whole event when Memphis closed kind of out of the blue. When you have 4 tracks linked together in reasonable driving distance losing one of them can wreck the whole deal. I was looking forward to the original route because Steele Alabama would have been a new track for me which would be like number 26 or something. But crap happens, we will still have a good list of tracks.

I planned on spectating at Cordova and Byron if that counts - work is getting in the way but still going to try to go to at least one.

Bad340Fish that is a nice car.....Do you tow a trailer with it and change rear tires & wheels? I always go back and forth on having a trailer, my car even has a hitch and wiring for one. I never have pulled the trigger due to the difficulty of getting a trailer to the start track, and all the extra trouble they can add with more tires and bearings to worry about. Not to mention parking at the hotel etc. I change tires and rear shocks every day, air shocks make the car ride nice on the road without beating up my decent double adjustable shocks and its not that big of a deal to change them. Tires and tools will all fit in my Fastback with the back seat removed. I stack the tires behind the drivers seat and the rest I have in tubs or boxes to help unloading go easier. The car is full no doubt but its manageable. Lots of guys drive on drag radials and race tires. The few times we have had lots of rain I am always super glad that I change tires. Being able to go 60mph in the pouring rain is well worth the trouble to change tires every day.

I'm fixing to be there with the same 31 Plymouth HemiCoupe as last year. I recently dug the coupe out of its 11 month hibernation and started getting it ready. Unfortunately, I had to leave town for a family emergency 2 days after I got home from drag week last year, and I was gone until November 1st. Then it was catch up on business, then holidays, then winter travel, ect.. So the poor ol' coupe was rode hard and put away wet. I am planning to test with a pair of AFB's that I stole off of my F.A.S.T. Hemi GTX on a tunnel ram instead of the current 8 carb intake, because I haven't had time to sort out the 8 carb rig, and in theory, the dual quad should be pretty simple to get sorted since they already ran good. I was using a mechanical fuel pressure gauge in the dash with a Mallory isolator. That never worked right, so I am switching to an electric gauge. I bought some street tires that I am mounting on rims and bringing with to the event, but I'll only bring them with on the event if it looks like rain. Because I haven't figured out how to carry the slicks when the street tires are mounted. Maybe on the roof? Still running the same 58 Chrysler Hemi as last year, and the T56 Magnum 6 speed. If time permits, I am going to try out a Bangshift Billy clutch controller instead of the Clutch Tamer that I tried last year. So I'm in full thrash mode at this point.

Good luck, Clark and Joel! I'll be watching on the live feed! Clark, I had no idea you change the shocks at each track. Is the ride that bad with the adjustables or does it just help when you've got all the extra tools and gear in the car when driving from track to track? Do a lot of guys swap shocks every day?

I am sure I am not the only one changing them. Down the road with two people, tires, tools, and luggage it is probably about 4100lbs. With the extra weight the pinion angle goes a little negative and it gets a driveline vibration on decel. The air shocks are an easy swap and it rides nice. I really would like to either add some kind of air bag setup, or just make it where I can add the air shocks on with my existing shocks in place. But with a Dana 60, tailpipes, and the stock gas tank space is very limited.

I take it your on Leafs too? Air shocks are probably your best option with leafs.
If not, they have these little coil spring spacers or wedges that I have seen used on Drag Week,,,,,They slip into the springs when fully extended, and they help stiffen them for the extra load. You take them in or out by hand at full extension.

Spectator at 131 last year, will be spectating at Indy this year. All of your cars are cool as heck, I WILL participate once my junk gets sorted.
Having things stolen from me at the track before, I have a question for those of you who have participated: How do you secure your parts and tools at the tracks, and how do you secure your cars overnight at the motel? I lock the doors and roll the windows up at the hotel lol. There is generally some kind of action in the parking lot most of the night, people rolling in late, or people just hanging out having some cold snacks tend to keep trouble makers away. I imagine it is irritating if you are not a car person and you are on a business trip and you end up at one of these hotels! I have not had any issues leaving my pile of items in the pits. The larger crowds of spectators at each one of these events worries me but thankfully there has been very little(if any) theft that I aware of. I do keep the laptop in the car even if I am not using it for tuning.

The view of everything going on in the pits is pretty wide open. If some outsider where to start digging through your stuff, I think somebody would notice. I suspect that any low life who got caught stealing somebody's junk out of the pits would be subject to a pretty severe thrashing by an angry mob of drag weekers! I do quite a bit to secure my car at the motel, so I can sleep well. But I'm not going to disclose my methods on the public forum for obvious reasons.
