I think this might be my first post in the restoration forum and may be the first Aspen post in here also but I just bought a nice survivor 79 aspen wagon and wanted to fix it up just a little before I hand it over to the wife. It has sat since 2006 and with nothing more than gas in the tank and a shot of either in the carb it fired right up and is rnning and driving but the brake pedal is a bit sticky...

First off where can I get a bright red cardboard headliner?

Also is there a way to pull the door panels off without damaging them to clean and lube up the window mechanisms?

Probably gonna have a lot more other questions...

I am not causing global warming, I am just trying to hold off a impending Ice Age!

Nobody sells the replacement headliner. Good used is usually your only choice. You will find that many parts for the volare aspen are not being reproduced or available. The door panels just have the standard door panel spring type clips around the ends and they need to be gently pried off between the clip and the metal part on the door. You can use a door panel removal tool that they sell at harbor freight. Some people have repaired the headliners and recovered with material. The warped ones can be worked back in shape with some work.
