Looks like another car for Graveyard Carz. Sorry posted in wrong forum earlier today.

Sad.

Is that molten aluminum on the ground behind the van ?

I did not notice what appears to be molten aluminum. Think it was the wheels, what else could it be?

You "tree'd me, I had to convert it to a postable format photo and didn't see it here. I posted this in the general forum. Don't think it will buff-out.

Aluminum cylinder heads, intake, transmissions, suspension parts on the front of the van, more and more aluminum being used these days.
With that intense of a fire I am surprised the tree isn’t toast.

Okay, someone will have to explain this to me. To me, it looks like the car was on the road, being driven, and then abandoned. Wouldn't it have been quicker to simply drive in whatever direction was safest? I mean, the stop sign doesn't even looked singed. Wouldn't the heat alone be enough to do damage 100 feet away?

That pic was taken with a high power telephoto lens from a long distance. That flattens out the depth of field in the photo. That stop sign could be a couple miles beyond the burned cars.

That would have to be an instantaneous fires for me to leave that there. I guess someone walked away. Riding around and “oh look there’s a fire, let’s get closer to watch! Wide open street, I believe I could get to that stop sign with a Road Runner, might be telephoto but it ain’t that far away, I’d say panic set in big time.

And to me, it looks like the road runner and the van impacted eachother. The fender by headlight area looks pushed up from side. Right?

Another pic from a different perspective.look at the 2 firefighters in this pic. They are behind the car and van, behind the burned down house, behind a distant street of burned out cars, but yet are the same size as they would be off they were in the forground. That pic is very ft flattened. There is no real perception of distance.

Wind driven fires tend to not burn the trees much, they need much more heat to combust.
Is there a fox body mustang 67-72 GMC pickup as well?

I'm guessing the van had an aluminum driveshaft as well. Looks like that street is on a slight grade

Looks like a lot of old cars in Weed. This happened in 2014 too, some places were just finished rebuilding in the last year or so.

The Ramcharger was destroyed in 2014

Advantage of living where I do in ND. There are no trees.

People will park/roll their cars in the street during a fire. The house and greenery around the house are combustible. The street has less combustibles. Sometimes works.

But in the picture of the RoadRunner/GTX, it looks like the whole neighborhood went up. So the overall heat and flame travel can't be avoided.
