Obviously you guys know how to do it in Wisconsin! That is an AWESOME turnout - lots of winged cars - amazing! I know I sell a lot of my chambered mufflers to guys in WI. year-round - obviously a lot of gearheads there.

We have a few small cars and coffee events around here. One of them I try to make it to each month has been pretty small with the heat. Well last weekend I didn't go and the place was a madhouse. Someone even drove in a real Shelby Cobra. I am not a car show person but I like an event where I can go back into a spot, show off one of my junkers while me and my kid go check a few cars out then leave.
My Barracuda has been apart lately so I have been taking my Conquest, it seems to attract more people than the Barracuda these days. I think people are just surprised to see one that runs lol.

Isn’t there some kind of B body club convention going on near Milwaukee this week? Some local buddies of mine were talking about going there. I’m disenchanted with living in Illinois to be sure, but one of the few benefits we do get here in Chicagoland is a lot of good cruise nights. Many nights there’s more than one to chose from. As Ron mentioned about Wisconsin, the season is way too short here too. Some are wrapping up this month. On Mondays there is a big cruise at the Old Orchard shopping center in Skokie. It stopped in 2020 with Covid, and the promoter didn’t resume it last year. It returned this year run by the chamber of commerce. It used to often get over 400 cars, but hasn’t been as big this year. Though this weeks event the weather was perfect and I’m sure over 300 cars showed up! They have food trucks, sometimes a band, and some displays. Next Monday is the last one for 2020. If you’re in the area please come, more Mopars needed! Here’s pictures, I have not added this weeks yet. https://www.flickr.com/photos/111914442@N04/albums/72177720301453282 Our areas largest is the monthly Saturday night cruise in Morris. They have got over 1000 cars there some months. It’s very well organized, they block off the downtown area of town for cruise car parking along the Main Street, and also use the side streets. Highly recommended! Rolling Meadows on Fridays is another good one, tomorrow’s and next Fridays are the end for the year though.

This is how it's done by us. Every Wednesday at the local bowling alley. Show up when you can...leave when you want. No charge to enter. Just a bunch of folks having a blast with their cars. No Judging, no awards. Live band, cheap food, cheap drinks. 400+ cars tonight(and almost every Weds) A special visit by some wing cars as well tonight! This is how all "car shows" should be! Showing up at 7am and leaving at 2pm pissed off cuz ya didn't win a trophy is NOT having fun with the hobby.......hanging with your buddies at a "show" like this is! What city in Wisconsin is this? I know Wisconsin is a state with a huge amount of Mopar support. I know of one guy in a smal town and have seen part of his "stash" of cars. Most guys would go nuts over what he has stuffed away.

This is Waukesha...about 25 miles west of Milwaukee. There's a good bit of Mopar guys in the area but as stated earlier...those wing cars were in town for something else...they just stopped by to visit the show, which was very cool!

there are 2 separate local cars and coffee events in town and each it will get 250 to 350 cars . Sometimes more I think.
one the first weekend and the other the 2nd weekend, the second weekend one seems to pull more muscle car era stuff . where as the 1st one seems to pull more exotics and the ricer crowd
But both can and sometimes do have a decent mix. Both of them are nearly an hour drive for me, so I dont hit them every weekend. But do try to get to one or the other at least every other month
There is a huge local cruise in Scottsdale ,Az,,,, Talking Sticks area every Saturday nite and it will pull 350 to 400 cars every weekend. I was at one back in March and they had a very good mix with quite a few Mopars showing up, It starts early afternoon and goes till about dark, so cars are constantly coming and going all day.

When I got my Challenger back on the road 20 years ago, I attended some of the local shows. What I call "mom and pop" shows. Churches, fraternal lodges, you name it, everybody and there brother putting one on. Get there early, pay 15 to 20 bucks to enter, and roast in the sun all to to see if you got a 5.00 trophy. I quit going to them. Tonight I'm headed to the local Sonic cruise, adjacent to a large shopping center parking lot. Show is every Friday, weather permitting. Might be 200-250 cars. Get there when I want, leave when I want...

Wow that's great! Thanks. I wish we had something like that around here. I'd have to drive to Orlando, which isn't too bad (60 miles) but there's nothing even close to that good here.
Facts are stubborn things.

last night's cruise was kind of a dud. it POURED !! we had a great fish sandwich and some equally great ice cream, so it wasn't a total "wash out". there is a festival cruise coming up on september 25th that will be a good one, regardless of the weather. it pulls in close to 500 cars and bikes [coming and going], and tons of people of all ages. it started out as your usual car show, arrive super early, bake, freeze, or get soaked all day, then see who got a trophy. [i can't really complain though. one year i took my 38 plymouth coupe over to meet up with some friends from out of state. it snowed while we were inside eating, drinking, and visiting, and i got a 4th place ribbon. ] after lots of complaining and committee reorganization, it was decided to try a cruise in to see what would happen. that was the best decision that festival crew made, as it almost doubled the attendance.
