I have a Viper kit that I got from Cass for my Valiant race car. On it I plan to run manual brakes. It is quite aways from being completed.

I also have a 73 Duster that I may get another Viper kit for. That car has OE power disc brakes. It’s got a new booster and master cylinder. Now, Cass told me that the Viper calipers work great with manual brakes when discussing the Valiant. Do they NOT work good with power? I would like to use the Viper kit on the Duster with power and Valiant with manual.

Anyone have any reason to take the booster and master? Also, what size master cylinder should I use for power assisted Viper calipers? It has what is OE for factory power discs. I forgot what Cass sold me on for the manual brakes for the Valiant. I would suppose it’s a different size?

Maybe the suggestion against Power brakes was because they might be too touchy?
For years I ran a 4 wheel disc setup in my '70 Charger with a 75 Dart booster and master cylinder. Yeah, Cordoba 11.75" front discs and the Dr Diff 10.7" rear discs with a disc/drum MC. It worked but wasn't optimal.
I am switching to the Dr Diff 13" Cobra front brakes, the 11.7" rear discs and Hydroboost. I hear that Hydroboost systems can be touchy but I'm going to give it a try.

He didn't really advise against power brakes. I was already planning on manual steering and manual brakes on the Valiant because, you know ..... race car. When I told him that he was like. "Oh yeah, they work GREAT with a manual brakes.". I guess I could call him but he's so busy and I have time so I thought I would ask here. Now, for the Duster I was thinking a 1-1/32" bore MC and a Wilwood (or something) prop valve. It's a street car and I'm not concerned about the things I am with the race car.

I have hydroboost from a company called HydraTech in my 70 'cuda. They are awesome. You can stop on a dime and get a nickel and two pennies change. The kit was great because I didn't have to do any leg work.

Where did you source the hydraulic lines?
I'm looking at either buying the end fittings and fabbing them up with the hoses to be crimped by a shop or buying pre-made lines.

The kit came with multiple fittings and ends. I tied that in with my own fabricated flared lines.

I contacted a nearby NAPA store that has a machine shop. The man said he can crimp some fittings. I may look to a tractor or forklift repair facility since they deal with hydraulic hoses every day.

I have had heavy equipment shops make hydraulic hoses and lines for me before. They’re all over, even in small towns.
