Wow. Didn't know he offered that. https://www.detroitmuscletechnologies.com/misc-heater-ac-related/ and one of them https://www.detroitmuscletechnologi...or-large-3-4-or-small-5-8-od-leg-valves/

What's a Ranco heater valve look like?

He lists a bunch of OE part numbers. I have no idea what mine are. I guess I'd have to dig through the parts book or find an aftermarket listing that included the part number.

Might be helpful to show a picture of the style of water valve to know if I should pursue it. I think many have the same basic design, but with different mounting brackets and actuators.

Didn't realize that. It sucks. But moving ahead, here is one AMC version of the Ranco valve. And as you surmised, they are pretty much the same other than the brackets. So that is for the most part what a "rebuild" consists of, moving the brackets.

Are the rubber parts the DMT sells are for if you take your original valve unit apart?

I found that new four seasons 74661 unit in gold cad. Looks like the stock unit.

Anytime you have two different places or even batches of gold cad done, often time they don't match 100%. Because these parts are connected, any differences will stand out more. That's if it matters to you. Point is, I can see the value of rebuilding your old one with the DMT parts.
