Since my car no longer fits in the local street car shootout stuff I’ll do a little bracket racing. Since installing Viking DA shocks a few years ago I haven’t ran a bias slick, only drag radials. Will my shock set up for radials work with my slicks or will I need a different set up? 69 Dart, pump gas small block, 727, 4.10 Dana with cal-tracs, it’s been 6.25 @ 110 in race trim on radials.

Thanks, Justin

I would go find out how it does how it reacts to your current set up with bias tires up scope
Nnot every car, motor, tranny and converters, racetracks and weather are identical so don't expect anyone else to have the exact same set up on the same track surfaces as you have had twocents work
My old pump gas Duster didn't seem to mind the same shock settings with either type tire, ET Street Radials at or near 18.0 lbs. pressure or ET Street bias ply with the same size tires at 10 to 13 lbs. pressure confused

Generally, you have to calm down the hit and slow the rise going from radials to bias ply's. Otherwise you will just kill the sidewall before you wear the slick down, DAMHIK smile HTH's up

Thanks Tig, that'll get me going in the right direction. up

Cab I was looking more for generalizations, not an exact set up.

I agree tighten up the rear rebound. You may have to loosen the rear compression a tad as well.

Might end up slowing down the front end too. Too much too quick on a slick is bad.
